I can’t believe the stupidity of anyone that attempts to drive through deep flood water, just not worth the risk writing off your motor for the sake of a longer detour another way.

My wife coming home had a run in with more than one SUV type vehicle driver just ploughing through water with no regard for others. Numerous times bits were passable via the middle section of the road and SUV\Pick ups just came the other way pipping and flashing cars and ploughed through to the side sending water everywhere.

Bound to be off. There's no way the water will have gone down far enough for people to get there safely tomorrow.

Of this I am sure. All Spireites will want it "On". This may be a good time to play the Heed !!!! plus the last thing we want is a backlog of fixtures. that we have to catch up on.

If it stops as forecast it’s likely it will disappear pretty quickly. When chatsowrth rd flooded in 2007 I drove down at 6am the following morning with no issues.

Litterally flooded in to Birdholme.

All routes north or east blocked.

Derby Road south gridlocked.

Same heading west.

And as seen elsewhere, areas around Horns Bridge and Chat' Road just lakes.

Likelihood is if the pitch is fit, the surrounding area is safe and Gateshead can get there then it’ll be on. They can’t call it off cos chatsworth road is a bit iffy for example.

They're still advertising the tickets on "X" without any mention of pitch inspections. So 🤞

No worries about it being called off. Pitch drains well and river levels set to start receding around midnight. I will be very surprised if there are any road closures come morning.

Town (Chat Rd) all over Beeb national news, today.

Bloke there for 'Look North' says watter all but gone, though (five mins ago).

Still raining but 'normal' rain. Pretty confident we'll have a green light tomorrow...
