Amazing that Southend have spent more than us on agents when they were under an embargo for the most part of the season
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Presumably a good portion for the agents of players renewing contracts

I won't be too upset if Frecks doesn't play for us again this season, rather see Williams come in and Horton for Clemence. Looking forward to tomorrow but not confident on what sort of performance we are going to see tomorrow. I will be glad to see the back of this horrible league.

Yorks spend is eye watering at this level.
East stand second class citizen.

Some fascinating figures for League Two.
Unsurprisingly Wrexham lead the way, at £347k, but 2nd and 3rd? Forest Green £260k to sit bottom of the league and Salford at £160k.

I don't think Freckleton is seen as a direct replacement for Palmer or Williams, but he is seen as a stand-in for Grimes or as a left back. I think Freckleton will be back next season, either a loan deal or on a free transfer.
Safe trip tomorrow Dave, and I hope we come back with three points.
As for this league, it's run like some 1950s gentlemens club, where certain members get all the best seats and trough at the top table. It's an awful league that needs to be brought into the modern era but it won't happen until we see a change in personnel at the top.

Looks like the Southend figure is for historical owed fees not just this season so is higher than expected.

But they couldn't even do that whilst under the embargo.

Of course they could, how else would they have paid the agents fees they have?
A transfer embargo is not quite what it seems - see

Exhibit A was after the embargo was lifted

Exhibit B was on non contract terms until the embargo was lifted

I dare say that any agents fees weren't payable until after the embargo was lifted, and any due from before that may be one of the stumbling blocks that's holding up the sale from being completed
