We have now reached the stage where we are exaggerating the attendances

Clearly the lowest crowd of the season, huge gaps everywhere especially in the West Stand. Obviously we are now counting the season ticket no shows as a form of spin

The Southend attendance will be interesting

As soon as it was announced I immediately thought that we'd taken the Blackpool route of reported attendances. No way were there hundreds more in the ground than v Colchester. 250 more in the away end, yes. Elsewhere, nope.

Whats has happened to much lauded hospitality.

There is a block of 30 or more padded seats never occupied, today there was a couple of dozen empty seats in the centre section.

I think we are i **** street in more ways than one

As I've said to you on other threads Azul, DA tells us what he wants. Whether it be attendances or debts, makes no difference.

Why did Blackpool report a 6k crowd when it was half that in reality?

All about the illusion.

Yes we've had the tales of woe from DA regarding attendances previously but is he going to want to admit the attendances are now falling at a rate of knots due to his managerial appointment. Perhaps temporarily saving face.

but surely declaring bigger crowds creates its own account problems circa Mr D Brown cant see it sorry. The Football League will still be watching I would have thought.

What's he doing wrong?? He sells kids season tickets for peanuts in the family stand, when bought with an adult season ticket. You go on the website and try and buy a ticket in the family stand further back than the first couple of rows. Nothing available because they've all been sold. Yet on match day, the section can be as little as half full.

Just because they are not physically there, they've still purchased a ticket and can be declared as part of the attendance, surely.

No they shouldn't be declared as part of the attendance at all.

im no expert, but I'd guess they put it down under income as two separate entities.

Income: £000

Season Tickets 2,000
Matchday Tickets. 600
Merchandise. 500
Corporate. -250

I doubt declaring crowds has any relevance on accounts

The computer tells you how many seats have been sold whether its via season tickets or match day sales.

It isn't like the old days when money passes from person to person and then disappears into the back pocket without ever being counted

It doesn't work him that.

Clubs can either include or exclude empty 'sold' seats. We've counted bums on seats unlike many others, ie most of the big clubs.

Those who went to Blackpool saw a clear example.

There's an article online about Man U doing this, basically always reporting a sell out when in truth the attendance is much less, the police get the correct attendance which is needed as a safety precaution and Manchester police released the actual crowd numbers, the differences were quite large!

No idea why clubs do this mind
