Very sad indeed as the only game I can remember was November 1987 and I think it was a night game 1.1 draw and crowd was 5700 so it must have been only 700 town fans their and if I remember rightly they caused a bit of trouble when they came for too
Was a Saturday afternoon game, ref gave them a late penalty to equalise. Jamie Hewitt had put us in front. A very young (17 I think?) Carl Muggleton in goal for us on loan from Leicester. I remember Muggleton looking petrified as the Sunderland fans were running amok around him in the goal area in front of the kop while the game was ongoing.
I would have only been 12 myself, and remember it being pretty scary. -

Have you deducted what you lost on other games and in previous seasons....?
My guess is the bookies can
We used to own a casino, can always remember some rich dude bragging about how much he had won that year.... and then the GM showing me his lifetime returns at their casino, which were very different to his recollections!

No because that wasn’t the question, but if I had then the deduction would have been largely nine tenths of fu** all as I very rarely bet tbh, and betting on town adds to the stress of what’s riding on the result if doing it on a game by game basis, so I avoid that.
It is definitely the first time I’ve ever bet on town getting promoted and the decision to throw £400 on it was made at the end of a long hot sunny day in Rhodes last summer and fuelled by copius amounts of sauce.
In fact if I remember correctly it was the night we battered Matlock and I got a bit giddy!
Finishing 2nd or 3rd paid £425 back and were we ever going to finish lower than 3rd? Christ we finished 3rd the season before when Wrexham and County blew everyone else away. It was buying money. -

Got 1 adult ticket and 1 U19 ticket for Wealdstone if anyone is considering a last minute decision to go and hasn’t got tickets yet.
