Perhaps he thought you were suggesting that this season is the first time he has scored loads and loads. I'm sure he wasn't comparing his career against Grigg's, or perhaps he was, it is Dave after all.

I am surprised his scoring efforts over recent years hasn't attracted attention from a league clubs but at 30 I guess that ship has sailed or is about to.

Well if he did that is a very generous interpretation of his post...but as you say it's DIFH so who knows!

The bottom line is Bonnyman has had a ridiculous agenda against Grigg when his quality is there for all to see and is seeking to say he is better than Grigg. Which given their respective careers and all round performances is frankly ludicrous.

It is similar to his pathetic campaign against Armand Gnadulleit....who then went on to score goals at a higher level!

I await his reply to my Grigg or McAllum up front for town next season question with interest...

Journeyman or not, but his recent history is Scottish Championship player of the season and a cost to York City reported to be in excess of £250,000. Won’t be on our radar.

I’ve been impressed with him when I have seen him play. Certainly had Grimes going one way then the next before sitting him on his bottom.

I agree probably not on our radar but I do expect a speculative signing from the NL

The bottom line is i asked if he would play the league above after a great season, im surprised how prolific he has been certainly the eastleigh manager got more out lf him than paul cook did, would he have scored more goals than grigg for us i dont know but the simple fact is he is this seasons best striker....as for 442..ram it terrible idea.

This season...mcallum has been the better striker the stats back that up plus he has scored in the cup against better opposition, he isnt the best player in the league though Naylor is.

Stats! Prove nothing, performances do! Grigg is better, always has been and always will be hence Paul Cook signing him and not Mcallum.

Agreed Naylor has been POTS.

I'm not here to be Bonnyman's white knight, and I think we all know his thoughts on Grigg, but "best striker" is subjective. Best for what? In our system, for what the manager wants, probably Grigg by a mile. The most prolific this season is McCallum. Not everything has to be black and white or else you end up like those tedious man-babies on twitter who form their identities around arguing about Messi and Ronaldo

Bump
Not been or listened today. Can somebody please give us a measured analysis of whether Quigley can be seen as an effective long term deputy for Grigg in a 4-2-3-1?

My most polite view is that any '3' we put out cannot control the game unless Grigg or his clone is playing. Asking them to change their game to be more direct in an effort to support Quigley hasn't worked.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Quigley found his role and purple patch being a last 20 minute player after a) our passing game had tired opponents out and b) grigg had worked his knackers off occupying the centre backs.
