Topics I've Started
-
James Berry
26 October 2024 - 03:32 PM
Credit where credit is due.
As critical as I was of his abject performance against Notts County, his performance on Tuesday and coming off the bench today show what a good player and finisher he is and can be.
Also so glad for Dobra today finding the back of the net.
Looking at today and the size of Morcombe I was surprised Grimes didn?t start? -
Tyrone Williams And Defence
18 October 2024 - 10:07 PM
All credit to Tyrone tonight in difficult conditions I thought he did really well in his first start this Season. Clean sheet says it all and Grimes also looked solid when he came on. Araujo is some find for us also.
No need to be playing Naylor back in Defence. Get him into midfield where he belongs -
Berry Unfit Or Lazy?
12 October 2024 - 04:41 PM
Berry sauntered around the pitch today not once sprinting, going past players, tracking back or putting people under pressure. All in all very poor. Is this because he?s lazy or just not fit enough or both? Compared to Markandy and Dobra he just doesn?t seem at it.
Colclough looked more dangerous in five minutes than Berry did whilst on the pitch.
He seems to me to be a good finisher but he needs to show more especially when we don?t have the ball. -
Now The Dyst Has Settled
17 April 2024 - 11:32 AM
Ok so the last few games have been nothing short of bad but the bottom line is:
We won promotion out of this awful league at a canter.
We played some great football along the way.
Crowds at home up at levels never seen for a long time.
Decent entertaining attacking football.
We are out of this awful league.
We are out of this awful league.
We are out of this awful league.
Paul Cook and the management team have probably learnt quite a lot over the past few weeks to use positivity going into pre season and build a squad capable of doing well in league two.
Better that Cooke has had his holiday early so he can get stuck into refreshing the team and working with our owners to recruit the right level for next Season.
On the downside the players have lost focus and the adrenaline of winning so early might have a negative effect. Hopefully not and a win on Saturday in front of a full house ought to be the immediate focus of every player.
We are clearly lacking up front and need to recruit wisely whilst moving players on who clearly won’t hack it at a higher level.
Only positive thoughts from everyone going forward and despite the last few games:
WE ARE CHAMPIONS And OUT IF this AWFUL LEAGUE!! -
How Much Are We Missing Will Grigg
14 April 2024 - 01:19 PM
No surprise that we are struggling without Grigg and what he brings to our play other than goals.
His hold up play, physical strength and intelligent runs are there for all to see. Plus his goals.
The Season is all but over and our performances are showing all where we need to strengthen and we certainly need not one but two back ups up front one of which needs to gave some pace.
What concerns me is the confidence ebbing away from this side when next Season will be a big step up in quality week in week out.

27 Nov 2013 - 17:09I live in Manchester too in the week myself, my home is currently Rugby although originally from Chesterfield and I am a season ticket holder.
Would you like to share a lift when convenient to us both?
The trip from Manchester to Chesterfield is awful, I can make the game quicker from Rugby to Chesterfield and it is nearly twice the distance.
