torquay got lucky today,we beat a spirited droylesdon team 2-1,a little fortunately, but the game didnt finish with any pleasantries, torquay manager went to shake hands after the game, and all hell broke loose, one of the bench team from droylesdon attempted to headbutt him, then it kicked off, three or four of there team just went beserk.Such a shame,as there were no iffy decisions and it was played in good spirit, the afters though were totally unacceptable and unwarranted.A dvd with all the commotion on it has already been sent by tufc to the governing body, the players and officials of droylesdon deserve to get whats coming to them, totally un-called for behaviour"
Comes as absolutely no surprise if true. Droyslden and their manager put together a great team last season but some of their officials (not all) show no class whatsoever; witness their apparent behaviour at last season's official conference bash.
"I think I should step in at this point and explain exactly what happened yesterday after the game against Droylsden. I was the fan in question involved in the incident.
On my way out of the ground, the Droylsden manager, Dave Pace, was asking people where the boardroom was. I commented that after his disgusting behaviour at the final whistle (goading our fans) that he did not warrant a place in the boardroom and behaviour like his should be subjected to the likes of touchline bans.
Immediately, he was abusive and said that i wouldn't dare say that to his face. My reply was that I had just done so, which resulted in him walking up to me and pushing his face into my face and threatening me with a headbutt. At this point, I believe Lee Phillips, who was passing, and was in no way involved, said "leave it, it's not worth it" or words to that effect.
Two or more players from Droylsden who were climbing the steps to the 200 Club dropped their bags and one in particular began to spout foul language, promising me that he would f***ing drop me and knock me out. My response to this was to congratulate him and applaud him for being such a professional and a credit to the BSP.
I then left of my own accord through the side gates. Many others were there at the time, possibly including Daryl Batten, but their opinions were the same as mine - that both the Droylsden players' and the manager's behaviour were absolutely disgusting and not worthy of a pub team."[b]
