Folan, £500k . After season above, and a cup run of goals after which he signed a 1 year extension.
Ward £300. Season in division below, lots of injuries, and 1/2 a season of quality.Seems a fair price when things are considered.
AND lets face it, he aint gonna sign no matter what terms the club can offer.

WHY?
less than 6 months max left on his contract, with tribunal to set the fee?
If the lad from palace to spurs, Bostock is worth (750k?)? why is ward worth £600k with just a few months left on his contract??

Wish it was slightly more...i think we need to push for a player in return at least on loan.

We have the top striker in the league on our books, yet Hubbard quibbles over a new deal - despite offering extravagant contracts to over-the-hill veterans - allowing him to walk away for less than his true worth?
This club is a shambles mate, and it's down to the complacent amateurs that are running it!

Knowing that he was a near certainty to leave in Jan then its fair to say that Hubbard should have offered a very good deal to pull in a few extra bucks.

Exactly!
I've been trying to tell folk for ages that Ward is an egotistical young man who sees Town as nothing but a stepping stone and has a low opinion of the management.
Now whatever they say in public i'm sure those running the Club must've had a pretty good idea of this too: so why not offer him a deal (with clauses allowing him to leave if acceptable offers come in, of course) that would ensure us an enhanced pay day should it go before a tribunal? If he's going anyway what difference would it have made? Failing that, why not offer him a lucrative one year contract that would've meant he was still under twenty four when it expired?
It just doesn't make sense to me.

Tell me one footballer that we have had in our history that hasn't seen our club as a stepping stone to better things, even the legendary Gordon Banks and our very own Ernie Moss are two of note but i don't buy that anyone have had a low opinion of our management not even Wardy, don't bother replying because you know i am right.....

well lets try to explain it again then.
Leaving aside the one year deal. which I've argued before is an option for the reason you have given but is not likely to be attractive, how does your plan protect our initial investment of £100k plus the loss of his substantial value, if he is not sold by the end of the contract?.
