Sure I read on their forum that someone had contacted the club who said the game would go ahead no matter the call ups.

Could SUFC encourage(?) him to go,for postponement purposes. Maybe he could claim asylum, fearing problems if he was too return, assuming he's actually been to Afghanistan.

Shouldn’t matter.

No use to the team in terms of support/showing appreciation or whatever sat at home watching it on tele are we! If you want to go to Southend, I can’t see it being on tele being much of an issue..if it was an early KO or midweek or whatever maybe, but not a Sat 3pm slot

Could really do with this being on. Selfishly, because I’ve bought a ticket and would undoubtedly be a good time to play them. But also I’m getting twitchy about fixture congestion after Christmas…not even in the proper bad weather yet and that’d be 3 to fit in

Seems they do (in the EFL) Port Vale had a game postponed earlier in the season as they had three loan players on international duty.

They're trying it on that non contract player Mauro vilhetee whose been on the bench 8 times suddenly gets a international call up ,they're definitely trying to call it off scammers

This is a joke - a 30 year old called up for a team nobody has ever heard of and hasn't made a start for Southend. Town should be arguing that if he wants to play for them he has plentyof time to turn up after Saturday because the game he has been called up for isn't until 6 days later.

From a playing point of view they'll want it off. But can they afford too? You can guarantee the TV money and 5,000 tickets already sold as all been spent. Cant see their creditors being best pleased seeing them refusing income just before a potential takeover.
