For a couple of weeks store security buzzers have been sounding as we have passed through them. At first you look round for someone else, then it dawns it must be one of us. By a process of elimination, recent purchases that might have tags left on them etc, the conclusion is that it is probably the new season tickets. Anyone else had a problem?

I think its a ploy by some High Street retailers to identify those with more money than sense as they enter their stores!

joke BTW!!

It can not be the season tickets, as I carry mine around in my wallet and been in loads of shops and it has never happened to me.

Wow - I kinda knew the Club'd got a bad reputation over recent times but that's ridiculous!

My wife keeps the season tickets in her purse and she's had her bag searched in Tesco a few times due to alarms. She's also 'beeped' at a few other shops in town. She thought it was her new handbag. I'll tell her to test the season takers next time she's shopping and report back.

Anyone fancy being my 'decoy' for a bit of five-finger-discounting?

Being thick, shouldn't the security buzzers go off as you enter the store as well and not just as you try and escape if it is anything to do with the season tickets.

Probably the same tech in them that makes it open the turnstile that is used for the security tags in stores hence setting them off. Potentially NFC being used in both.

I always have ours on me, not noticed a problem so far. That said, I'm now wondering what will happen if I take out the layer of insulation in my purse (half tonne of old receipts)!

It could be a security tag from another shop on your clothing.
God I hate this league.

Thanks for all the replies. Been doing more checking this week and convinced it's the tickets. As not everyone has the problem, must be a defective batch in there somewhere. Dreading approaching the club for a solution. Probably won't be, "oh really, please accept our apologies, we'll have replacements as soon as possible and certainly they'll be ready in time for the next home game"
