When we get the chance to put a ball in the box, we seem to do so by just putting the ball in the box, we don't actually look to pick someone out, more than a couple of times that half we just fired balls in, when a quick glance could have picked someone out, we've looked relatively comfortable so far,but we need to pick our heads up in the final 3rd, and make those killer passes..

Classic Town.

What must be eighty, maybe ninety percent possession but mostly in front of a deep defence. Could've and should've been in front in the first three minutes. Mandeville - who's once again been our most influential player - firing at the 'keeper with the whole net gaping.

Since then too much diagonal again. A handfull of shots, Colclough twice forcing saves, yet the need to run at rather than around their defence noticeable. Gotta say Dobra mostly guilty.

Not much threat at our end other than the inevitable mistakes. Got away with a couple.

Can't help thinking the direct Berry would improve things...

Build up play far too slow again for me first half. They’re happy to sit in their shape and watch us knock it around our back 4 all day, and they’ve obviously got some threats in the final 3rd so will happily wait for their chance to counter on us & expose our defence

Second half we need to start by being far more proactive, get the ball up the pitch quicker, get our wide men one on one with their full backs with constant overlaps from our full backs and get at them. Take the game to them and we can beat these.

Also can’t help but feel Mandeville is so wasted at right back. Probably our most in form player shoved to full back. Yeah he can join in with the odd attack from full back, but it’s not enough for a player of his attacking quality. I’d have him in that number 10 role behind the striker every game where he can effect the game most

We are miles better than them but Jacobs is having a shocker,berry looks lots better and hungrier,as for grigg coming deeper to pick up the ball which is good but he isn't the strong running focal point up front which would make this squad much better ,if you are a centre half you don't mind marking him,I'd prefer a big lad with pedigree that all the technical players can play off,he must keep coming deep,hopefully he can get something inside the six yard box.
