I suspect the person running the police Twitter account may be getting a telling off on Monday......

I see he's saying the landlord made the decision to close the tup post match after being challenged about reports of trouble in there pre match

a bunch of them came past ticket office giving it mariners i was giving it *******s ,anyone see that youth he was called kev by his mates steaming drunk sprawled across that red car trying to get into car park they were looking for it not a copper in sight

2 coppers stood and watched that as my son challenged them why they were doing nothing. They said they weren't allied to leave their spot. He said I bet you would if some town fan banged him. After the game when we were going back to car and they were running around like ****s he did laugh and tell one of them he'd left his spot. If they had clamped down on those looking for trouble pre game they might not have had so many problems

Which isn't what was stated in the original tweet. You've probably seen my tweets to them; if they are making things up it shouldn't go unchallenged. Next time it might be our fans slurred unfairly by them or by another police force. Not to mention the unnecessary fear it will likely prompt amongst people reading it.

Bit if spin. I believe there was trouble pre match in Lion and the landlord contacted the Tup and Parlour suggesting closing 'til 6 (officaly!?!?). Which was agreed.
I reiterate there was no trouble in Tup apart from one ejection.

Couple of videos doing the rounds on Facebook too. Looks like the Stonegravels emptied at one point for everyone to have a pop at the Grimsby fans. Also understand a Grimsby fan was out cold between DD and Stonegravels (certainly looked it on the pictures) and a town fan suffered a broken leg. Ouch!!

I saw the town fan in hospital at A n E he twisted and broke his leg after he turned it over on the kerb edge. I think he was kept in.

Beer Parlour have tweeted to say there was 'no trouble' yesterday let alone any damage. Where was this damage?

There wasn't any mate. My mates a copper and told me they made it up in an effort to keep Grimsby from that end. Dave Wright wanted all the town in the Spireite pub so they could usher Grimsby up the pathway behind the college. The plan failed.

I can also confirm that one fan was told to leave pre-match and did so with litle hassle at all,,, just a gobby *** who couldnt hold his lager, The Tup did open post-match and there were the usual town fans in have a nice sociable drink,,,,,

Not trouble connected but I thought the vocal support from the away end first half was excellent. It was like they were a Big Club 😁

Did the police walk any of them down the path that runs down the side of the A61, like they usually do, or did they all get escorted to and from the match along Sheffield Rd?

We always park in, or near, the council yard. This is the first time I've found myself getting verbal off an away fan and worrying about what the lad and I might be about to get caught up in.

Surely you are asking for bother walking them straight past Stonegravels. The only good thing was they stuck a police car in the middle of the road just opposite the junction, forcing every car to turn left, which meant we got out a lot quicker than usual and missed the bulk of their fans.
