Anyhow, despite the clumsy attempt at “sneering” at those who doubt Ezedis attempt to integrate into the UK by converting to Christianity, when it’s quite clearly obvious you don’t have to convert to Christianity to integrate into the UK, it would seem his conversion, even though the priest who vouched for him said Ezedi was “fully committed to his new faith”, wasn’t as “committed” as the Padre first thought….

“Clapham chemical attack suspect Abdul Ezedi was 'a good Muslim' who bought Halal meat and avoided alcohol, friends say”….taken from media reports just a few days ago.

I guess some people are just taken in by liars and scammers!

After not giving any descriptive details at all for circa 13 hours following the attack (surely a crucial time window to catch this fella?) you are now offering money for folk to help catch him.

Why do you think that the Met shouldn't offer a reward?

I think the point S&D is making is that the Met, for some reason, withheld the suspects description during the crucial hours to apprehend and are now offering a cash reward for his apprehension?

Just to let folk know, the kids are thankfully okay but the woman might lose the sight in one eye.

Y'know, remembering the actual crime here is throwing caustic chemicals at them and not being an immigrant...

A crime that was so preventable if people hadn’t been so gullible.
Great news the kids are ok, hope she makes as full a recovery as is possible.

Not necessarily all it seems. The asylum seekers left their countries of birth out of fear, because they were dissidents or from marginalised groups. Some of them left because they were already Christians and were under threat as a consequence. Others have little or no reason to follow the religion of their oppressors.

They arrive here after an ordeal of a journey and are dumped on a boat instead of being given the freedom they anticipated. The system is designed to be unwelcoming, but they do get well treated by some British people at least viz. the clergy who visit them on board. The Church folk show them kindness when they are feeling desperate, so no wonder they are tempted to join them.

In the case of the Clapham attacker, none of have any idea whether his conversion was genuine or not, because we never knew him. It doesn't follow that because he committed a nasty crime he can't have converted to Christianity. He didn't shout "Allah be praised" while chucking the toxic liquid about, did he?

People using this board should thank themselves lucky they've never been put in a position where they have to leave everything and everybody behind them and escape to a different country. A modicum of sympathy wouldn't come amiss.
