For crying out loud - hardly got his ass through the Sheff Road door and folk're already wondering how we'll get rid?!

We've signed a proven goalscorer; we've signed a lively young midfielder; we've signed a left back playing in L1 for the last two seasons and now we've signed another L1 outfit's captain.

The squad continues evolving for the better - let's celebrate that fact and look forward...

    Well said.

For the second summer (what summer?) running, our recruitment appears to be fully committed to delivering marginal gains across the starting 11. I'm looking forward to seeing what the starting 11 will look like come August and what the new signings will bring to the squad.

    Three year deal

*sucking in air through teeth sound*

Really happy with the signing... but would've preferred 2 years, assume he would only sign if we offered 3...

The overall cost of three years versus two may well be negligible. Given the stability that we've seen since Cook came back, it's hardly like we're a month away from appointing a new manager who will want to carve things up and in the process deem players on long term deals surplus to requirements just because they wore the wrong socks to training.

I love paul cook. He?s every I want in a manager. Arguably the best manager we have ever had.

    When is the crunch point. I want him here forever but inevitably that won?t be the case. What is the most like scenario for an exit. Some scenarios;

Offers from other clubs (most likely?)
    End of current contract
    Poor form of team
Lack of funds at the crunch moment

Together with Phil and Ashley Kirk, Paul Cook is integral to our future success and how we hold his interest in the long term is something that I have frequently pondered but it's a subject I'm not too worried about.

PC has been quite open about his time at Ipswich, losing his father and the impact that had on him. I'd like to think that him coming back here has helped to put a smile on his face and I feel he does place a value on that.

For me, it's not about what other clubs do, it's about what we do. To answer your original question, PC is a leader and he knows exactly how to deliver success and that unity is paramount to achieving that so when the board and/or fans are no longer on the same page as him, that's when the crunch moment is most likely.

Thanks both. It's feels like the right time after the promotion and I was surprised a lockdown project got this far! To talk to over 80 players and managers has been great and really changed my appreciation of the sport. Being independent from the club hopefully gave the players to open up a bit more about their experiences and thanks for everyones support over the years. I'm thinking of working on some new things so will be back with something different after a bit of a refresh.

They've been a credit to you and your guests, Dave.

Thank you for your efforts over the last few years, I'll miss listening to them.

Be interesting if matchwinner have anything to say on this with matchwinner on the shirt bearing in mind they?ve started up again doing licensed stuff in a deal with the club.

Not to mention the club and Vertu Motors who purchased Gordon Lamb!
