Topic for debate.
FA Cup draw is tomorrow. Do we look to take this seriously or second string side?

A bit premature there old lad. There's another round to be played before we enter the competition
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.

Play to win whatever that means side wise, the prize money and potential for a pay day with a good draw shouldn’t be overlooked.

I know the kudos of the FA Cup has dipped somewhat over the year. I didn't realize it had fallen to such an extent that non league clubs would feel inclined to not take it seriously and play weakened teams. Compared to other teams in this league we have enough quality in depth to not even consider the idea.

A good run gives us prize money, revenue and publicity. So let others field weakened teams as that makes a longer cup run easier for us

Me too. A great FA Cup run didn’t stop Lincoln romping to the Championship of this league.

Second string. We don't want a cup run.

Ridiculous statement... the money generated from a good cup run will help the club immensely

Let me understand this, you would be happy to not buy a ticket for a third round home game against either Man City, Man Utd or Liverpool as you think the FA Cup is pointless

More than enough players in the squad to enjoy winning the league and a decent cup run

Let’s hope for a good draw against a Big club in the later stages then move on.
God I hate this league.

Enjoyed Tadcaster Albion v Chester on BBC i-player, yest'di.

Gave me a real feel for the competition, on fact.

So yeah, of course we should have a go in the Cup. That's not to say we shouldn't start a second string if the oppo' are lowly enough, though...

I agree.
On the second stringers, I think we've got 4 or 5 at Matlock so learning whether they will be eligible will be instructive. If they are, we can put a decent second 11 out.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

We should be able to get through a couple of rounds changing 7/8 players. No drama.

No - disagree here - the last times we've got involved in the cup, it cost us our league position. Have a bit of fun in first round and move on - short term pain for long term gain.
