Paul Ince would probably welcome the challenge of proving his previous employers wrong. After all he has always been a battler, knows the division, and could have the right ambition if DA is prepared to pay the going rate.

Yeh but he'd jump ship as soon as someone showed any interest. I feel any new guy would have a connection with Wednesday-Danny Wilson has family and house in Chesterfield, noy my choice thanks.Sean Mccauley I don't know much about but he did well when put in charge at Wednesday. John Sheridan No thanks. I wonder how much of a surprise the new guy would be - and no rico jokes guys.

McAuley has a strong reputation with players and coaches alike. However, I'm not convinved he's the type of appointment we need.

John Still for me. Got D&R to become a very strong team and play the style of football we like to see

True, he's not someone who is proven at getting a club promoted and if he's only previously been caretaker manager for a mere 4 games what's to say he's going to be any better than Rico has been for us?

If we are going to have someone who is currently academy manager as our new manager with a managerial career spaning 4 games then i don't see that much difference with giving a chance to Dave Bentley. Unless MacAuley has achieved better than Bentley in the last three years.

If Allen insists that Sean Mac is the person to take us forward then i will back him as Allen knows a lot more about him than any of us, but 4 first team games isn't an awful lot to go on, even though 3 were wins. I'd still prefer someone who's actually achieved some form of promotion before preferably from this division.

Re John Still, he's bound to be on more money if he comes here, and has worked wonders at D&R, but does he really want a job this far north given that he's spent most of his career in the south of england. Also despite most of his success being at getting teams promoted to the football league he hasn't done an awful lot at clubs once at this level, his best is perhaps at present. He was also manager at Barnet when they got relegated from the football league. Perhaps the only time he's previously managed at a club as big as us was when he was at Peterborough in which he won 19 out of 67 games, he seems more suited to smaller clubs, having said that he's 59 years old so could now be at his prime as a manager. One other thing, if D&R get promoted through the play offs it pretty much rules the bloke out.

Come on it can't fail every time can it?

Simon Grayson didn't do too badly at Blackpoo and he was promoted from the lovely post of physio.

As you say it'd be much better to get a proven manager from outside but (and it's extremely unlikely to happen) Bentley was put incharge for next weekend and we beat Bradford in style then i'd consider him for the role permenantly. I wouldn't consider him otherwise though as he's unproven in the hotseat. We can't afford another f'k up.

We can't afford............. and you are willing to give him the job after 1 (end of the saeson, nothing to play for game)....?

just testing peoples reactions really, as he's done more behind the scenes than Rico did when he was assistant to Roy, he's an ex spireites player and has had experience getting a group of players into league title winners.

I know he's took the youth team to the title twice in the last few years.

Rico was merely Roy's assistant.

Paul Ince may do, given that he's spent much of his career in Lancashire it would seem an ideal job for Ince to take, plus it's at a higher placed club than MK were when he was with them, and Oldham were once a top flight club who surely have aspirations to get back there.

I wouldn't agree with the footy heaven caller earlier who uttered the words Jack and Lester as our next manager.
