Personally I think he is good enough for L2 and he probably does too so he may get lucky. If he hasn’t re-established himself in the team in the new year, he might start to worry about his contract extension and re-evaluate what best suits his ambition.

He had a good game but they allowed him time on the ball, he’s a completely different player when he’s being pressed, hopefully this is a spring board for him, I just don’t think he puts his foot in enough but hopefully he can learn this side of the game from Jones.

He was excellent until they turned on the pressure late on when he got left behind a bit in midfield. It was crying out for Mike Jones for the last 20 minutes. Up until then Oldaker was seeing a lot of the ball and using it well.

That's only because he attempted attacking passes. No criticism of Jones ofcourse, because he is a safe player who is absolutely effective for us. But Oldaker also wins the ball, wins freekicks and can turn defence into attack with a pass. His passing range is better than Jones' and that's why some of his passes get intercepted.

Like he always does. There’s a good player in there no doubt. Pretty clean on the ball , he just plays some really poor passes. Hopefully he kicks on. He seems a good bloke and knows himself he needs to improve if he’s to be a regular here.

I’m not so sure about the winning the ball part but agree he’s probably a better passer of the ball, slows the play down a bit too much at times though.

I think the noticeable thing about our bench today was the absence of another player that can play in the "two". Had either Oldaker or Naylor sustained an injury Banks would have had to drop back. That being the only option emphasises the fact that we are perhaps a little short in this area of the park. Jones has now one further match of this suspension to go but his next suspension will be for 3 games.

Can’t decide if I agree with you here or not. Oldaker hasn’t even been in the squad for most games this season, so another option to play in the ‘two’ seems a waste of money. Now banks has made the number ‘ten’ position his own I suppose we are a body light. The transfer window stays open we should be able to use that to our advantage. Where does Hobson play?

That’s a one-sided view if I ever saw one. If our three shots that hit the crossbar had gone in and their goalkeeper hadn’t made at least two excellent saves, we would have scored eight!

Was going mad at him just before our third goal, gave the ball away then was too busy waving his arms about trying to get a foul which should’ve lead to a goal for them but for a cracking save from tyrer, then we obviously countered and scored.
