Does it matter, ??

Can you have 30 players on the books, and then name only 22 for the league squad??

Bit like teams have to name a 25 man champions league squad??

It would obviously matter as you?d be paying players that can?t get a game. Not saying it won?t happen but hardly ideal.

Doubt it will come to that, sure Hobson will be loaned out given the glut of players we have that can play his roll. Hopefully we?ll be able to shed at least one CB as well and then the fun may start trying to get a balance

Must admit, I do not know, but I would not think it is in a players interest to be tied to a club but not be part of the squad.

I believe all injuries, including long term ones, have to be covered by named members of the squad plus U21 players and it is not permitted to draw down on players not originally named in the squad.

We can have as many as we want at the club, we can only register 22 outfield players over the age of 21. Now I?m fairly sure the likes of Cook and the Kirks are clever enough to know we don?t want players sat around getting paid and not able to play as it?s dead money but getting folk out the door doesn?t need to happen to allow for more signings. It just likely needs to happen before the window closes for moves to leave clubs or more likely we can move folk out to National League clubs at any time through til March.

There are two registration deadlines after each transfer window. Between those it?s make do with what youve registered.

Interesting that only 4 League One and 3 League Two clubs named a maximum of 22 players in their squad list issued in September.

Its barely into Monday afternoon...we have a tendency to announce things early evening recently so still plenty of time for something to happen today if it is.

Final wage of this season is paid this week, agents will be trying to get better deals etc so outgoings make take a couple of months to finalise.

If last season is anything to go by, Cookie had his full time squad together by the pre season training camp abroad and I reckon he?ll try to do the same this year. It might be slightly different for potential loan players but don?t think we?ll see squad building drag on to the end of the transfer window.
