I thought it had been mentioned previously that we dont insure players against injuries as the costs outweigh the benefits or something along those lines.

If so, it's at least £100k out of the budget straight down the drain. Bad news all round..unlucky Angel, unlucky CFC.

I dun a Google cos I've got a day off. An ACL rupture/tear is the same thing but the tear can be partial or complete. A complete tear is more common than a partial one. However, it's not really looked at like that - it's common that you can't return to your normal level of physical activity when you have a partial tear so it's looked at in terms of 'functional' or 'non-functional'. If it's a functional partial tear then you can go back to whatever you were doing without too much issue (unsure if this is purely relevant for your average Joe, though - presumably this isn't the case for well-paid professional athletes) but if you get a non-functional partial tear then you've torn enough of your ACL fibres to make your knee no longer feel stable. There are two ways to go about this - an ACL Reconstruction or an ACL Augmentation. Reconstruction repairs/replaces both parts of the ruptured ligament. In an augmentation, part of your ACL is unaffected and remains untouched so you only need, say, one part of the ligament repaired/replaced. This is better for the knee in the long run when compared to a reconstruction.

I haven't been able to confirm the recovery time difference between a Reconstrucion or an Augmentation, maybe this is something CPS could help with? I keep seeing 6-9 months.

Too be honest, I'd much rather find out about this injury when the injured party is known, when the extent of the injury is known and period of recovery is known

These kind of injuries can end players careers

Unlucky Saunders, the saying is correct, better to be lucky than good.

Apart from Drew we've been lucky with this kind of thing during the PC era

As fat as insurance is concerned I doubt it extends past the medical expenses

Random questions -

Would we have the budget to get a loan signing, at least for a month?

If so, what position? Should we cover RB and move O'Neill into midfield or get a like for like midfield replacement?

Would it be worth getting a few free agents on trial to see if they're any good? Will a free agent come for a smaller wage if they are currently without a club?
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

As O'Neil is a midfielder it makes more sense to bring in a Rb. the budget question is somewhat irrelevant as we need one and we will have to find the money, or go over budget, it's just one of those things

Although these 4 new players and the new contract offers will have undoubtably eaten a large chuck of budget, I'd be disappointed if we've used up all the outgoing player wages, plus this 30% of incoming transfer fees already

It is pretty plain with a couple of injuries that the squad is stretched in certain areas, that would be very bad planning if we'e spent up

I suggest thinking before calling people a bell end.
