If you're trying to play in a 20yd corridor across the pitch, you're bound to lose the ball. Rice and Trent were playing as auxiliary centre backs, their talents wasted and in the process we give ground. Awful game and really not good enough.

Then again, if a player is as talented as some would believe he should be able to pass to a teammate with accuracy.

If we are honest, we might have been the best team in the opening minutes up to when we scored but we created very few chances in that period.

Mindset, or management, after we grab the lead seems to slow the game down even further, drop back even deeper, make 3 or 4 passes when one quick and precise would have been much better. Even when 3 so called players with pace were introduced there was no urgency to get the ball to them quickly so that they could stretch their defence. It?s no use waiting until every player with pace is being marked by 2 or more defenders.

Very disappointing. We can?t get worse. Can we?

Palmer doesn?t start for me, you want runners off Kane and Saka is a shoe-in for the right. I?d put Gordon left wing to stretch play and Foden to come off the bench.

On his performance last night Foden would struggle to get on Town?s bench never mind England?s.

The left side has to be addressed because Trippier isn?t an answer at LB.

Also felt central midfield looked unbalanced with Bellingham excellent and Alexander-Arnold hesitant.

Then up front, Kane provided no outlet at all when we were under the cosh and regularly came second against his marker.

Need an outlet on the left, saka is tearing um a new un on the right, nothing from the left

Foden might play well for his club but in general his performances for England are below par and why he lasted the full game last night I haven?t got a clue.

Don?t even know why Cooper is being discussed.

I understand he has been offered a new contract at Leeds and I really do doubt we are in a position to match it even if their offer represents an 80% cut on his existing wage.

Thanks for talking about the team and the football. It seems to be the last thing most of them are interested in, but 'twas ever thus.
Look forward to some more interesting discussions it the mods get a bit more selective about relevance in threads.
