What about the captain for next season , apologies if it's been discussed already as i havn't looked at the board much lately .

I reckon Mark Allot , rarely injured , good football brain , plays in the right area of the pitch and most importantly enjoys his football , never lets his head drop and appears level headed and could cope with it without it affecting his own game .

Perhaps deserved also for his consistency , general improvement and hard work .

Any comments / suggestions welcome - except Sammy Clingan !!

I agree with all your comments about Mark Allott, he's very much a peace-maker as well when there's a rumpus on the pitch. Captain? I'm not sure do you think he's too much of a 'big softie'? I can't see him tearing a strip off any of the players when needs be! Apart from that, we love him!

I think Allott is one of our best players, but he doesn't have the 'umph' to be a captain. For me it's Blathers or Shinner.

The captain should be one of your first names on the team sheet. Assuming the necessary signings are made Allott certainly won't be in that position.

Blathers I don't feel handles Captaincy all that well. Mark Allott people on here know how much I respect and appreciate this player (even if others don't) however I don't think he really has the personality to be Captain he's a very quiet person who tends to keep himself o himself and I don't think he'd make a good captain.

For me .....Mr Derek Niven....Captain middle of the park, where a Captain should be, and if anyone deserves it and can handle it well its Deggsy.
