After the impact Sheridan made when he arrived...promotion form...you’d have thought momentum would have carried on

You’d like to say that it would be nice to see the back of 2019, but you can only predict yet more continuation of ###### shows, where we are weekly joke of embarrassment to the Non league scene......we are fast becoming Chesterfield..who?

Not one player in that squad can hold their head up high & say they’ve improved...NOT ONE PLAYER! I’d happily get rid of every single player...players with a bit of stature...Denton, Boden, Evans, Gerrard, Smith etc etc....have done absolute zero in standing up & be counted.

2020...new decade, new Chesterfield??? Different year same old embarrassing cr4p predicted

an utterly bizarre decade for the spireites, 2 league titles, 2 Wembley finals a play off season in league one yet i'd hazard a guess we've probably ended the decade losing more games than we've won.

The last decade offered so very, very much.

A new multi-millionaire owner. A new stadium populated by Chesterfield people and Chesterfield firms. A new ambition and professionalism.

A new birth.

Yet perhaps the seeds of subsequent failure were being quietly sown even then, as an all but unknown Ashley Carson was appointed onto the Board to be the owner's eyes and ears.

Ten years later the bloke who promised Championship football now oversees desolation. What were once sold out stands snubbed and deserted. A once trusted Boardroom emptied of all but puppets and cronies. Once loyal staff, suppliers, sponsors and supporters gone amidst scapegoating and scorn. Headlines that once proudly proclaimed success report scandals and embarrassment. An asset once touted for fifteen million arguably costing more to fulfill fixtures than recouped through the turnstiles.

A hundred years of league football lost after once inconceivable incompetence and corruption.

But hey, according to that same bloke we've 'never had it so good'...

I’m hoping 2020 will see the departure of Allen, Carson, Coe, Brentnall and all the other hanger ons and cronies who have turned this wonderful club that mixed it occasionally with the big boys in the football league, into a joke outfit that loses to clubs week after week which have the fan base and infrastructures of your Hucknall Towns and Belper’s of this world.
