Am I right in saying ourselves and tomorrow's visitors Wycombe are the last two third tier outfits to reach the FA Cup semis?

Can't remember anyone matching our respective achievement since and something the Club's PR geniuses might've used as a selling point.

>Sigh< Ah well...

Anyway, it's a funny situation for us as for the first time in recent memory we could, just maybe, go into this game with a degree of confidence.

That said The Chairboys (weird nickname) have enjoyed a recent renaissance of their own, winning five out of their last six - including a victory at Paul Cook's Pompey!

Is that new found confidence starting to evaporate a little?

On the other hand friends of mine who attended both the Colchester and Crewe games tell me we were comfortably better than both, underlining a supposed gulf in quality between the two levels.

Or so they believe.

Me?

Well what I witnessed last Saturday was far from convincing, but we overcame an almost embarrassing first twenty minutes to get the job done.

I applauded the players and management off 'cos they deserved it.

And I'll applaud another twenty-odd scruffy, perhaps even fortunate-under-the-circumstances style performances if that's what it takes to secure our short to medium term future.

Especially if that includes one that sees us at Old Trafford, The Emirates, St James' Park, Anfield, Stamford Bridge...

When they first entered the league I wondered why the team had a nick-name suggesting they were choristers!

The FA cup is always number one for me. Don't understand why it is relegated to a distraction, never will.

One defeat in the FA cup and you're out, one defeat in the league and there is always next week.

Supporting Macc and Danny Whittaker tonight. Not sure they are the underdog the Beeb is making out, plenty of names in that side I recognise.

Shame the attendance looks so poor, and at £10 as well.

I just don't understand it

For those of us old enough to remember the FA Cup when it mattered it still does hold a little bit of magic. Most of those under 30 won't feel the same.

The thing is if we get past Wycombe and draw Chelsea Reseves at home, all those under 30's will suddenly rediscover the magic, Yuck!

Agreed but it looks like one of those matches they end up winning 1-0

Danny looks exactly the same player he did for us. Not everyone's cup of tea but indisputably cultured

So much for misplaced confidence...

Wycombe were a side fielding proven players playing to a plan: outmuscle our collection of youngsters and non league graduates.

No complaints or excuses - Wilson should've known what to expect.

I wonder how their budget compares to our's, too.

Pathetic performance from a club that appeared in the L1 play offs barely eighteen months ago.

If Wilson and Morgan had a ounce of decency they would both resign saving us having to pay them off and get a up and coming young none league manager in.

I read they made > £400K profit on crowds of less than we had yesterday.

Probably boosted by sell ons for Jordan Ibe. Wish we received transfer fees once in a while. Saying that, the fat buffon Turner claimed at that Q&A we are likely receive significant sell ons in the new year
