not sure if finance will allow it but If I was Paul Cook I would be asking to give him a season contract

As Cook said in an interview, when people are back from injury we will be overloaded on the right in terms of options, and lacking elsewhere. With the situation as it is Cook is right to keep with the status quo. He also mentioned the current situation also doesn't mean Boco wont get a contract.

What happens if the club keep him for a week after the transfer window closes, and say no thanks? He cant sign for anyone until the Jan Window.

Perhaps the chariman of the PFA will have a word if the club did that - it would be effectively a restraint of trade
I would give him a deal to the end of the season personally, he hasn't looked out of his depth

Certainly makes a contribution to the team.I've no doubt he's happy to be playing and showing what he can do.But being under a non contract basis anybody could snap him up at any time. That would be our loss!

As a non contract player surely he can leave anytime he wants and if this is after the transfer window shuts he could join another club as he is essentially out of contract.
Out of contract players can join clubs between transfer windows

I thought they couldn't sign for anyone else if they played for a club after the end of the transfer window?? ie, he would have to wait until Jan if he played for us after 31 August??

I thought it was as well hence why it wont take long for a player to take it to court and it all fall down around UEFA\FIFAs ears. Along with the rule about cant play for more than 2 or 3, cant remember the exact number, clubs in a season.
FIFA are also gunning for our loan system as it goes against all their window rubbish and want it stopped.

So it is correct then, if Chesterfield hold his player registration when the transfer window closes then he can't register with anyone else until the next window
Not sure why this hasn't been challenged. I suppose there is always a glut of players being realised just before the window closes for this exact reason
It'll take someone in Boco's situation to challenge it. I can't see it getting that far though, his registration will be terminated or he'll be offered a deal before the window closes

Appears FifPro are looking to challenge things as well..

Boco, presumably was sign as cover for both Banks and Gardner, And possibly Talbot, who were all right sided players at varying degrees of injury.
Now two of three are nearing full fitness, wouldn't surprise me to see him move on and sign a contract elsewhere.
That said, rather than lose him, wouldn't surprise me to see him sign a deal, either til Jan or even the summer given his involvement and impact so far.
