I can never tell if people are being serious or not on this board.

Nothing about that video screams "onside" to me. Off by about two foot

I don't mean to be rude but do you understand the offside rule at all?

What it does show is that Tyson climbed all over Evatt for the first goal. I'm pretty sure that would have been given as a foul if Evatt had done that in their box.

pleased Armand sounds like he's improving, ( and that the manager's substitutions may be improving!) but an amateur should have stayed onside to score that chance.COME ON KIDDA!
Don't give me them lazy long ball blues!

Not even close to being onside, he is clearly infront of the rest of play as the ball is played, very poor from Armand from that position not to stay onside. I would have been crucified in the Sunday League for that.

Based on that footage you cant say either way clearly....Armand isnt in the shot until a good few seconds after the ball has been passed. By that point he probably looks offside in a similar way to the guy who scored their 3rd but is it that clear cut when the ball is played? I managed to pause it the moment Armand comes into shot with his back leg...at that point that part of his body is onside so if you think that he is running forward he could very easily have been onside the moment the ball was played.

The only thing you can say conclusively from that youtube footage is that you cant say for certain if he is onside or offside!

Doyle scored pretty much straight after Armand's "goal" so it doesnt really matter I guess. If Armand scores then the sequence of play leading up to Doyle's goal doesn't happen.

He seems to be running pretty much in line with their defender to me.

If you pause the footage at the 1.07 mark when the ball is played into Armand you are right it's not conclusive but for me using my own judgement after studying it for several minutes using the six yard line as a marker plus the speed they are running in my opinion he is just offside.

If Johnson would have passed into the middle instead of shooting at the end, it could have been a whole lot different but that's the way it goes
Here we go again!

 Most of this thread hinges on us scoring either as many as the opposition or more to win a game/not lose a game.Obvious I know but we find ourselves in "we'll score one more than we concede" scenario.Cut out the defensive mistakes and we'll find it easier to succeed in this league.
Many a good tune

Thanks for the highlights plenty of positives to take out the game, I wonder if 250,000 in January would secure Johnson, I'd make him our highest earner he is perfect for our system at the base of a diamond front 4, I cannot see how armand could possibly be offside he was not only looking down the line he was waiting for the ball to come across as it does the donny centre half slows down and gives the lino the impression he is off ..saying that we are very naive and we don't pick up our men because like schoolkids we are ball watchers. ..still very optimistic
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

If you pause the clip just as Doyle crosses the ball, and I mean exactly as the ball moves from his foot, It is not clear if he is level or in front and on this occasion I think the Linesman had the better view and to be fair he flagged before Armand (NOT DAVE!) tapped it in.

I've seen them given and I don't think Armand's positioning helped his view so classing it as Sunday League is a little harsh specially as Sunday League Linesmans (IMO) are not the best judge of character in those situations. (Some Are Genuine but others are a joke and spoil a good game).

I was saying this weeks ago, but I've reluctantly changed me mind. The lad is a super footballer but he hasn't got the goal threat of a Roberts or a Banks in that position. In all other aspects he's a clone of Roberts so, on the assumption that any cash is scarce, I'd be using whatever we've got to strengthen more needy positions.

We dont really know if hes a goal threat yet - he hasnt had enough games.

He had a couple of good efforts on saturday - his first league goal is surely only a matter of time.
