Have i said anywhere that i am knocking SB, or is he jumping to conclusions and just assuming i'm going on about him as most people do.

I did say earlier on that i don't mind people who support their local club, and SB lives in chesterfield does he not?

Can i not mention Man Utd fans without SB thinking i'm slating him  One day he'll learn!

Edit: I assume SB understands what i'm getting at in my previous posts, but anyone who supports Man U and spends so much dedication and time to their local side obviously isn't a typical Man U fan (not like the rest of them in north derbyshire anyhow).

Amazing when someone can be happy when a multi million pound corporate conglomerate easily wins yet another game and simply trawls up the best players whenever it wants too with it's financial clout.

The same conglomerate that regards the F.A. Cup as not worth the money it brings in when it's real aim is to play in a European League that can make it even richer.

When they (rarey) lose I'm delariously happy but I can't help feeling a little sad for all the gullible Man Utd fools who believe they are watching anything other than an exhibition team aka Harlem Globetrotters and who actually believe their team has been build rather than bought.

Man Utd represent everything football should not be. There was a time under Busby when they deserved what they won but today they are an plastic pastiche of modern football, a parody of a game that has lost it's soul.

I and all my family can't stand them. I spit in the faces of the players and I vomit over their name in true Monty Python fashion

A brilliant post.

To be honest SB, I know it's hard to be objective in your position, so you must try to be open minded here, but he's spot on in his summary of what is wrong with football, deriving solely from financial greed.

And it's not just down to Man Utd.

Um financial greed i like that, tell me any other ground that was bombed during the war,had an air disastor which wiped out most of the team and most of the press that followed them, when you can tell me about about football mate i will listen to you,i have watched Old Trafford grow over the years and yes you may have been in it in 97,the fans including me behind the goal Bruno and Dychey scored and Howard's non goal when i first went there wasn't even a stand, now look at Cross St,who stood still,CFC or MUFC ?

Then there's the other CFC, the team who have that russian billionaire in charge.

Basically thesedays the premiership consists of two sets of teams, those 3/4 at the top (liverpool still flatter to decieve) that are always going to be there year after year unless something catastropic goes wrong. Then there's the rest of the teams, the ones who's main objective is to get into europe as that's as close as they'll ever get to winning the title unless some mega rich person comes in.

Man U may have come along way since the busby days, but thesedays they are that rich that unless someone has a similar level of finance (like Chelsea now have) the normal clubs who don't have a bottomless pit of money for players don't stand a chance.

I agree that Money and greed is ruining the game, i also agree that Man U aren't the only ones, it's not just the big clubs in this country either. The last few years (possibly since the introduction of the premiership) has seen the situation escalate immensely and it doesn't show any signs of improving.

SB, you're getting completely carried away, and - not for the first time - missing the point.

In very simple terms, football is in decline, and it is down to the fault of Rupert Murdoch, his customers, and consequently the rich buggers who don't care about football.

It is not in decline from my point of view,MUFC get a full house whether it is on sky or not, football has always been on television albeit not on the scale it is today,i would think it cost a pretty penny to put a satellite into orbit to enable us to get it anyway, whether you like it or not Chesterfield benefit in some way ie we have 2 live games coming up to the tune of £60,000 ok not on the same scale as the prem teams but it will always be tiered down,i suppose football is run as a business and so is town.

I enjoy watching Man U on the box. Arsenal are superb at passing and moving the ball past their opponents but it bores me. Much rather see individual skills of Ronaldo or Rooney taking someone on, that is far more exciting. Arsenal are looking a bit ordinary without their Africans. I hope Wenger's anti-English policy backfires on him and Arsenal lose ground on Man U during the African nations cup
