One or two of the youngsters in our team looked to be a little shaken for a short time by the off field action and the fishes tried to take advantage of it and we were nearly caught out. Ref should have called a halt to play while it was sorted out. They were still playing with one or two police still on the pitch and the ball in the area, Bad reffing.

Spot on Ern. The moment those idiots started chanting for Grimsby the stewards should have hauled them out. If they had acted fast enough they may have prevented the punch up. Instead they did nothing.

The steward normally on that gate had to go and tell someone cos he was refused a radio at the start.

More worrying for me anyway

There were a fair few Mariners knocking around the town centre pubs today

One of the South Humbersides finest PC Tommy as they called him ?? was clearly known by a few faces (which I later saw ejected from the ground).

PC Tommy even shook hands and new their names and yet amazingly alot of this group who gave a rendition of Mariners etc within ear shot of the local law enforcement ended up in the Kop end.
50+ points survival

Apparently a town season ticket was among the items knocking round the away end at half time.

Ernie, you've got it all spot on. I was in a pub on Brampton and the police are up there every week now; they seemed disappointed not to find anyone in there. I can only assume that they are more concerned with arresting banned fans within a mile radius than stopping the sort of thing that happened today.

Losing just rubs salt into the wound particulalry with the keep bal/removal of multi-ball fiasco.

A question, how can you play on with a police officer on the pitch but there is no way with two balls on the pitch?

Grimsby Town should be charged by the F A for there fans behaviour,if our teams can be charged in a foreign country then surely our F A should do the same at home, but they won't they will be allowed to get away with it.

Even of it is 15 quid I think they should be capable of pointing out a problem to the police. It wasn't rocket science to work out it would kick off if we allow away fans to stand there chanting etc.

If the trouble had escalated and the club got fined, there would still be no accountability in respect of inept stewarding AGAIN

collared the stewards , plods and that useless blob of a blind , deaf , steward assesor after the incident - got no coherant answer as to why it wasn't sorted out sooner - the blob said he hadn't seen or heard anything and smirked as usual !

obviously , as it took time to set off ( time enough as you said to sort it out ) only those who wanted to be involved in the bloodshed were liable to get hurt . however if could have been a lot worse and some families - kids , women and innocent guys could have got hurt .

town MUST complain about the officials- they were yet again inept.... there was a potential ''rotherham incident'' ready to happen following the ''''''officialdom''''' of that #rick today

Interesting that it kicked off at both ends at exactly the same time (presumably some of our scum had gone in the X St end, when they weren't supposed to). I wonder if this made the dealing with it any slower?

Why employ cowardly, over-age, dubious stewards full stop? police equivalent of P.C.S.O's - waste of time

Having watched today's event, same could be said about some police officers!

Don't be stupid please. I was sat in the compton they were jumping up and down just before their fans announced their arrival in the kop and then they caused a scene at the other end to make it look like they were a massive force to be dealt with.

Old school. Sad thing is some of them were in their 40s/50s.

It annoys me how people criticise the "young ones" for the way they behave. Most (if not all) of the "supporters" who got ejected today were older. They're hardly positive role models are they?

It was disgraceful!
