It was Carlisle 2 CFC 3 at HT! That game was followed on the Tuesday by CFC 3 Colchester 0, a week of the greatest quality football in back to back matches I've ever seen. Only rivalled in League terms by the wins at Hereford and Darlington in 1985.

Been to Carlisle a few times over the years but nothing there beats the late late Moss, (David not Ernie) equaliser in the 1-1 draw during our long unbeaten run in ?95.

Yes I was there for that and I agree it was a great moment which kept our record unbeaten run going at the time. Just a shame we lost that record a few weeks later at home to them!!

Was this the one when some blokes in suits were seen jumping joyously around at the equalise?
I?m sure the story was they decide to go straight from work

But the end justifies the means..a play off 1-1 draw at Field Mill, a return classic 2-2 derby in 90 mins at Saltergate, followed by a complete self destruction by them in extra time resulting in a 5-2 rout. Bringing on a complete domination at Wembley Stadium and a 2-0 win over Bury.
The perfect end.

Yes the perfect end to a great season. Phil Robinson and Tony Lormor were fantastic signings and we never looked back after that.

Wasn’t at Carlisle but that first half against Colchester was the best and most exhilarating 45 mins I’ve seen Town play in 50 odd years supporting them.

The fantastic Birch/Wilson side.
Remember singing 'We want six! We want six! We want six' - so the lads gave us exactly that.
But let's not get in front of ourselves. An away draw is always acceptable...
I didn?t go but remember that result. Birch was at his very peak around that time. How many did he score that day? Also it might have been that game but I get the feeling it was away at Burnley around the same time when he might have been sent off that a journalist in a national paper described him as the most exciting player in the third division so far - it was early in the season.

Yeah, I took half a day off work and drove about ten of us up in my van. Went mental when Mossy scored!
Got locked out of Saltergate 'cos they got scared and only 7800ish got in from memory. I think Reevesy scored for them?
