After watching him on satdi we need a big, strong centerback with a physical presence in the squad, cos Kovacs does'nt fit the profile at pressent.

Fully agree but big, ugly centre halfs won't be easy to get hold of at this time of year. May be looking at a loan signing....

I think that's a premature judgement for a lad who's had very few first team matches. Kovacs had a very, very poor game on Saturday, but I'm prepared to put it down as a one-off because I saw him play Freddie Eastwood off the park last season, so he has got the ability.

until he was sent off, there wa only one winner that game. he had eastwood firmly in his pocket.

however, i trust macs judgement, and mac has only played him when forced to. why is that?
A new hope.

I think it's because he feels we need Hazell's experience, which is true, and he thinks Downes forms a better partnership with Hazell, which I think is open to question, but we don't know because I don't think he's tried a Hazell/Kovacs pairing yet. RM obviously sees what's going on in training, so I'm happy to accept his judgement which is mostly correct.

sorry if this has been asked before but whats happening with kovacs contract? Doesnt his loan finish this season? Should he be kept? Have we been wasting money for 2 years on someone who never plays?
Everyone thinks forgiveness is a lovely idea until they have something to forgive

Sorry can't agree. Kovac is for me a quality centre half who doesnt get a chance to play. We need a reserve team so players can play not just a practice game now and again.

The 2 year loan deal ends at the end of the season.

I think whether or not he is kept all depends on what happens with Reuben / Downes this season, and whether or not we bring in another centre half.
Spireite till I die...
