I knew nothing about teams in non league (and that definitely included Saturdays opponents Ebbsfleet) until I started taking an interest during the last few months...

I will say the more I find out about teams that we’ll be facing, the more excited I am about the coming season..

He’s a story I’ve come across about Ebbsfleet’s owner

They were owned by loads of subscribers to a website at one time- myfootballclub or some such? The subscribers voted on transfers etc, I think.
These go to eleven.

Yes I get that, we’re stepping into the unknown, but I don’t want to get negative or be frightened by it, I want to look at it in a positive way and feel hope.
Maybe Martin Allen’s enthusiastic way has rubbed off on me but before a balls been kicked that’s good enough for me..

Obviously after 5 or so games we’ll all have a better idea of what to expect and god forbid I/we might feel even worse than we did last season..

But for now I’m looking at this season with optimism, and hopefully we’ll just be a team that’s visiting the non league for 1 season only... (maybe that’s taking the optimism too far??)

If that is taking optimism too far we have inadequate investment and the wrong manager and players. We should have enough about us to do well this season.

Ebbsfleet are a decent side. They have a central midfielder called Ebou Adams who was on loan at Orient last season. Did really well. Will probably be their 1 to watch on Saturday along with Kedwell

We are going to be educated in this league for sure. We will probably get a classic FA trophy draw against someone who ground shares with a car boot sale oh the joys !

Ebbsfleet away may be one of the hardest games of the season, and to kick off the campaign. If we get something ie a point it will be a good start.

I’ll be honest. I looked and laughed at the 1st fixture... how stupid and naive ...
Only Saturday will tell I suppose but shows the reality of how far we’ve fallen and what we’ve become... (a non league side)

The reality came the day we were relegated...unless you live in a bubble 😂
But we knew before then it was going to happen. Now it's all about fighting back, starting Saturday

Yeah 100% correct mate, and hopefully fight back we will! And do it well

It’s just myself, I didn’t want to face the facts until the last moment..
I didn't know how to face facts I suppose until I had no other option.. that option has come this last few week

I’m still looking forward to kick off on Saturday! I’ll be there doing my bit.. COYB!

You know it's bad when you have to Google the name of the team your playing.

What I've discovered it that the Ebbsfleet is actually a river which gave it's name to the redevelopment valley the club subsequently decided to adopt.
