Desperately hope we don’t lose at Bromley because the doom mongers will have a field day. A draw and a defeat in two games will mean according to them we are on the bad run they have been hoping for all season and dire predictions that Bromley and perhaps Barnet will catch us.
Even if we lose (and we are due a defeat) we will still be 20 points clear with a goal difference worth another point with only 39 points left to play for. We would have to lose 7 out of the last 13 games and the chasers would have to win them all, but this will make no impression on the doomsters who will predict promotion chances are all over.
Much better to win or draw then it really will be all over bar the shouting.

As has been pointed out on here before, if Bromley or Barnet catch us, they will probably by then have roughly the same goal difference as us.
But they won’t catch us, end of.

I'd be more worried when we play Oldham, we need to improve massively before we play them otherwise god knows what theirs fans will do.

Am I in some sort of parallel universe? We need to 'improve massively' to play against a team 35 points below us? On what basis?

Are you being serious? “Improve massively”? Are you saying Oldham are so much better than we are that unless we improve massively they will beat us. You do know how many points in front of them we are don’t you?

I’d say that Oldham need to improve massively if they want to scramble a draw.

So play them off the park, their fans will gently clap us off, play crap and get beat and it's armageddon?

Mental ain’t it? Facebook was a mess last night on the fans groups as well. An embarrassment to the football club.

This board makes me cringe sometimes.

23 points clear., we have a rare “off day” still manage a draw (and we’re the only team pushing for the win for the last half hour) against a well organised and effective side scrapping to avoid relegation and suddenly Bromley/Barnet/Oldham all turn in to El Galacticos!

No one in the division will win all their remaining games.

This squad this season will go down in Chesterfield folklore and be talked about for years to come and will win the league with ease.

Just enjoy it while we’re here.

Ill be glad when the board changes to another format and we hopefully don't see weirdos like this ever again..

If yesterdays off day turns into 6 or 7 off days and the 23 points gap is eaten away then it’s time to worry, not today. Hopefully a one off

In fairness, we are no different to any other fanbase but that doesn’t make some of the dross any more palatable. You wonder what thought processes are involved. Perhaps that’s the issue; there aren’t any.

I will personally give you 100/1 on the title not being won by the game against ‘Maidenstone’.

Yet another thread about the 'Doom Mongers'.

Who are they? Does anyone actually think we won't win the league at a canter? Is 'Doom Mongering' less, or more annoying than this obsession with the (likely fictional) mongerers of doom?

No, no one thinks that, but that doesn’t give the OP reason to start another thread, so he makes them up.

Steady on now, he’s got a degree. It amazes me that people can’t work out that folk like Walton, Brittas and S&D only say things for a reaction and why wouldn’t they when so many people give it to them. I find it funny personally seeing people get so wound up by them.

Ebbsfleet beat Oldham 4-1, at Oldham, the other week.
