But after having lost at Welling we picked up 15 points before the next round would have taken place
Barnet took 1 point
Bromley took 2 points
Cook has already admitted elsewhere that had he known the above was going to happen, he might have re thought the side put out at Welling
The side that ultimately won the competition were denied a shot at promotion just a few weeks earlier by the very organisation that administer the Trophy competition, which should tell us everything we need to know about how seriously we should have taken the competition

Town made the right descion it's a terrible cup that gives priority of league games and our aim was always to get out of this league as their is no money at all in the league or Cup. You would have been gutted if we had picked up injuries as our schedule was crazy around then and yes we did win the league when we beat Barnet away and its always easy to ease off as when you have won its human nature

That may well be, but none of Cookie's mistakes were "total ****ups" (your words) imho.

(All for wanting town to win a trophy - who'd have thought)?!
We did, the National League Champions for 2023/24, that'll do me and we're nearly back where we belong. (upper reaches of League 1 natural position)

I don't get all this terrible cup , waste of time trophy. It might not interest us that much (although I admit I wanted us to win it!) but for the majority of non league clubs it is a massive part of their season and a Wembley place up for grabs. We shouldn't degrade it just because we weren't interested in it.

For the non league run of the mill teams it's well accepted as it's their cup competition but as the National league make it a priority as ie sat games and take over the league the bigger teams fond it a massive hindrance ask Stockport and Notts County as they realised they needed to get out of this league by any means

It was the EFL that denied Gateshead as they didn't meet their entry rules.

You want someone banned for a slightly different (football) opinion on a football forum? Crazy days indeed

Ahhh. You see I didn’t say it did I ? Typical keyboard warrior behaviour.
I mean why would you make the ‘we ‘ comment ? Pretty common to refer to us as ‘we’ - well it is for those of us who go regularly anyway……
You’re just embarrassing yourself going out of your way to p.I.ss people off with childish and banal ‘contributions’.
I usually just skip the bilge you thrust upon us on here but. on this occasion am just sick of your constant juvenile confrontation.

I don’t really see how wanting the club to win a game / a trophy has caused so much controversy- is it really bilge? Banal? Juvenile?
Wow
