That's true, my friend.

But it's equally true that he and Branston gave the distinct impression signings were 'in the pipeline' (AKA: 'irons in the fire/lots of hard work behind the scenes/signings imminent/insert optimistic cliché of choice') at the last fans' forum.

Maybe they were - but to date we've replaced summat like twenty departures with six arrivals. Six. Of whom only two, maybe three might be described as proven.

It's last January, last summer, and in many ways the summer before that all over again.

Totally agree thay need to get moving.like you say only 3 players with experience out of the 6 .its very worrying at the moment.as there don't even seem to be much happening.after about 20 players out door we need to be bringing at least 6 helf decent players in. think we only got 18 players at moment.need at least squad of 24 .

I've asked and been told it's Stoke's home game and that's where they wanted to play!

My lads team played there earlier this year - it is a really good set up for Sunday league / training centre but I did nt see owt that would accommodate many supporters but that said it had only just opened and I think there was still work going on. The host team was using one of the 4G pitches so didn't get chance to assess the grass facilities.

It's an FA funded facility in the vicinity of Graves Park in Sheffield I understand.

Up to Norton roundabout, turn right and its on the right, where the old tennis and 5 a side football pitches used to be (although you have to go to the next roundabout and come back on yourself).

I'm told the Stoke game in Sheffield will effectively be a reserve game and will be managed by Mark Smith.

It's going to be a tad warm over in Portugal, with Hull City performing a risk assessment before agreeing to play Oxford at the same time as we play Boro. They also play Bristol Rovers on Tuesday 18th and Benfica at the Estadio Algarve (Faro) on July 22

Incidentally Oxford's to be announced game on the Wednesday in the report below is also against Boro

http://www.oxfordmai...ead_as_planned/

Whilst Sheffield Wednesday are over there the week after us playing Portimonense & Vitória de Setúbal

Wrexham are also in Albuferia but only for four days playing Ouletano DC, who play in the third tier of the Portuguese league on July 11.

Nice if them to have a game in my back yard. Norton pub on corner of meadowhead roundabout has an ok selection of beer and parking. Plenty of street parking but please dont p off my neighbours as i'll get it in the neck for months!

It's not like our board to think that it was being held in sheffield is it? Nowhere else appears to exist to them.

Did they really think that? Nah surely not- wasn't that a mistake by a fan?

It was originally announced by the club as being in Sheffield. Now whether that was a mistake by the club, Stoke or its been moved i dont know. Doubt its anything to do with the board though...the folk involved in sorting it would have been the playing side of things then the media dept announcing it nothing to do with Carson or Allen.

This is from the news story on the CFC site about it :-

St George's Park in Burton upon Trent will be the venue for a Chesterfield XI's pre-season friendly against Stoke City's U23s and NOT St George's Park Sheffield Graves as initially announced.

The match is on Saturday, July 22 (2pm). Supporters are welcome to attend the match and admission is free of charge.

A club spokesman apologised for the misunderstanding, explaining: "There was a breakdown in communication, leading to the wrong venue being announced.

The facts of the matter are when it was first announced last week I queried with AC why Sheffield and not the Proact (or the likes of Staveley or Clay Cross) he replied to say it was Stoke's choice as their home game. I asked are you sure it's not St Georges Park at Burton given the proximity to Stoke. I said he'd check and came back with, no it's Sheffield. He then told me yesterday it was Burton. Seems like a genuine breakdown in communication to me

He may be in Court 13, clock watching to see if he can get the last flight out.

I've read that and don't get it, what's that got to do with Carson?

He was a Director of the Charity at the time of the alleged offences.
