Still sounds cheap to me....

You really need to live in the real world. How many working people on the average wage could afford £4000 per year?

how many people are getting the pension that it buys? The amount taken out will be a whole bet better than the amount put in compared to most other pensions (assuming the 200k is the personal element and doesnt include employer contribution).

So yes, for what it is buying it is cheap. Can everyone afford it? Well certainly not anyone in a private DC scheme no.... For that £4000, the employer is probably putting in c£10k. You wont get that in your average DC scheme.

I live in the real world, I see what contributions our staff make. Very few make that much, and get even less added by the employer. Seems a bit unfair doesnt it.... ;)

On average wage its highly unlikely you can afford £4k personal contribution.... the poster probably wasnt on average wage. I doubt many in the NHS are unless they are HCAs of non medical staff...

William Wragg involved in a dating scandal.

Worse still, he passed on private details of other MP's as a result.

The same William Wragg vice chair of the 1922 Committee, the unelected body essentially running the Tory party...

The unelected body of elected backbench MPs?

A body that possesses the power to axe or endorse prime ministers without a vote being cast.

And whilst many might view Wragg's downfall as the result of him being daft rather than corrupt, it speaks to competence. The competence of those who appointed him to such a prominent position, and increasingly thar of the Rishi Sunak ignoring his own MP's calls for action: https://www.telegrap...leaked-details/

A perfect opportunity to comment on what Labour are saying not what former Tories are doing, and yet you comment on everything except that thread....

Speaks volumes, prefer to criticise than be constructive. Remember Labour are saying they will be the govt not a protest party!

Remember how Suella 'I dream of deporting asylum seekers' Braverman cackled with delight in front of houses designated to folk trafficked by the UK?

Errr... https://www.thelondo...reports-372097/

So to be clear - more home secretaries than people going to Rwanda, no planes to take them, and now nowhere for them to stay anyway. Oh, and even if some do eventually depart it'll only be a miniscule amount of those it's supposed to deter.

Good to know the best part of half a billion taxpayers quids are being spent so wisely, in't it...

Did you miss this one?

Angela Rayner has been accused of hypocrisy after it emerged she demanded a Tory candidate publish their tax details, while refusing to publish her own.

Labour’s deputy leader wrote to the Conservative chairman during a by-election in 2021 to ask her to publish Jill Mortimer’s tax return. This is despite the fact that she has so far refused to publish her own tax return or the advice that she received over the sale of her Stockport council house in 2015.

It is in the Torygraph but no denials yet...

Yep, gotta laugh....

Aaaaand there's more... https://www.theguard...ver-libel-costs

(By the way, that's more than ten times the amount Angie Raynor's alleged to've possibly, just perhaps, gained in CGT. Fifteen years ago. According to a non-dom benefitting from millions of tax avoidance. Won't read that in the 'Mail, though...).

Then they continue to support Islamophobes... https://www.bbc.co.u...litics-68787921

But what does 'wishy-washy' Rishi do? https://www.standard...s-b1150862.html

Obviously still competing for the bigot vote...

We might not see eye to eye but, that's a classic! A joke of a party prepares to exit; a joke of a party prepares to enter.

Its missing an r off your's but otherwise is pretty understandable... may not have appropriate capitals and punctuation, but I didnt think this was an English exam...

And of course being the parent of SEN child, you should appreciate more than most that encouragement is the key to improving and not trying to embarrass or belittle...

I think what he was trying to say is that Chris is deliberately obfuscating on the Rayner affair as she is the Deputy Leader of Her Majesty's Opposition and it would not do for him to accept she may be avoiding paying appropriate capital gains tax, refusing to declare her tax affairs whilst historically asking others to do just that..

Basically he wont accept she is a hypocrite and a tax cheat just like those he criticises.

But thanks for giving me the chance to say it all again>..
