    I agree, great signing.

I?m not sure I?d want to rely on Sheckleford as first choice RB. I tend to think we will sign another RB as first choice. If not, Williams should be kept as he can cover at RB if necessary whereas Palmer is strictly a one position man.

As such, if any RCB is to be moved on from what we?ve got it should be Palmer as I think we should be signing another RCB who is likely to be first choice.

Additionally, I think a LCB is essential either to be first choice or to be good enough to keep Grimes on his toes so to speak. Currently, we only have one LCB and one LB in the squad.

We have to remember that once the window closes we cannot sign anyone until January so have to ensure we have enough options and/or cover until then. As such, and that?s why, I would expect a few promising U21 players to arrive who will not be counted as part of our 22 but, nevertheless, would boost our squad numbers.

I have a feeling that both Williams and Mandy will be the backup right back, with a promising under 21 to make the numbers up. As for the left side of defence, I'll be interested to see who comes in because we can only have 22 in the squad plus under 21's and goalkeepers, and unless we move players on, we aren't going to be able to bring in experienced defenders.

If Clucas is anything still like the player he was when he was here before - and his career since suggests he certainly is - then he will still be far too good for the fourth division. Methinks another pie in the sky rumour, rather like filling the corners of the stadium in. Hope I'm proved wrong with the Clucas rumour, but fear it's nonsense.

I would be very surprised and happy if Sam Clucas came back at this point in time. There must be a good few Championship clubs who'd offer him a contract and then there's league one.

Not heard that one, but then again my source of all things football hasn't been too hot up to now, having told me Jeff King was staying, Harry Tyrer was back for another season and it would be announced last week and we definitely wasn't signing anyone called Paddy 🤔.

Never in a million years was that a corner and I tell Dion Dublin that every time I see him on TV. It drives the wife mad but I have to do it!
George Courtney was the referee that day if I remember correctly.

Dion Dublin, probably wouldn't get in the top ten strikers whose first name is Dion.
