That would be the sensible option to come back to us instead of 'running before you can walk'
Given the opportunity to build your experience with a team you're used to, just had success with and building momentum, in my eyes would be more preferable than being put into a higher division and team you are not used to/gelled with and have your confidence pegged back by being dropped/sent back/ bottom end of table.
Not saying we won't be bottom end next season (pretty sure we will be more than ok) but he has a better chance with us picking up where he left off than starting from scratch.
But, its not the be all and end all as we have Boot signed up

I agree with all this. The staff and players like him as do most of the fans so any isolated mistakes will be forgiven, more than likely. If Covolan had been with us for a while before he got sent off for trying to hack someone's leg off, then I feel he would have been forgiven and his confidence wouldn't have been shot to the point where he could do nothing right. The same could happen to Tyrer if he goes to a league 1 club and kicks someone into oblivion which costs them.

Last season it all felt like its now or never. This time I'd not been waiting in anticipation for the retained list, nor will I be the same on incomings/outgoings.
The Cook/kirks effect has plenty to do with that. There is just a sense of calm in the air, there's progress off the pitch and things will happen when they do on it and I'm sure cook will get the players in that will do enough to at least put in a solid campaign of consolidation.
Feels odd but I'm actually at ease with it all - probably for the first time I can remember really.
Well said.
For too many years our club was the victim of some questionable recruitment. By contrast, since Paul Cook came back to the club and the Kirks became involved, we've seen a refreshingly different and measured approach to signing new players and retaining existing ones. Long may it continue.
I think our recruitment will be very similar to last season and I look forward to seeing who we bring in and in which positions.

They have 2 young keepers on par with each other, if Tyrer is number 1 then we could give the other kid a go.

Very true, it just seems that we've had an influx of professionals, and it shows.

We seem to have some very nice guys steering the ship, I just hope if the circumstances dictate they have some fire in their belly this time. Far too often we’ve learnt the hard way that not everyone was in it for CFC.

At the moment we've only got 2 left footed players in the squad. It'd be lovely if the odd rumour included a keggy.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Berry, Colclough, Dobra, Jacobs, Horton, and Grimes all prefer to play on the left and perform better there.
However, I agree that I think Naylor would be better partnered with a defensive midfielder to the left of him, we need another LB and a left-sided CB.

Can see Naylor playing a few games at CB next year
