You and me both. I remember when he played for Rotherham and he ended up playing in goal against us. Got pelted with coins from the kop water off a ducks back for Nicky. Will always be hero after the 5-2 semi final thrashing of the yellow Bunkum.

Real hero that night but I’m afraid my view of him is very tainted after the Brown affair mate.

Then whilst he'll always be tainted by association with Brown, his recruitment and coaching to get us up despite off field furore must rank high.
Same applies to keeping things together the following season when we didn't even have a tin to tiddle in.
All this after being a promotion winning captain, too (by the way, anyone else remember him nutting the Stags player standing literally inches in front of him at their gaff to somehow inhibit his throw?).
Nicky Law was certainly no angel during those chaotic times, according to reports. However he deserves a place in Town folklore for his on-field record...

Well. I was in the Kop that day and I don't remember anything being thrown at Nicky Law. When he came out for the second half he got a round of applause which he acknowledged with a cheerful smile and a wave, which he would not have done if he were being pelted with coins, or with anything else.
To be honest I don't remember any player, from any team, having a load of coins chucked at him, probably because it never happened.

I've known it happen.
I watched a goalie complain to a policeman about it and gave him the coins he'd picked up, the policeman just thanked him and put them in his pocket.
I don't know about that particular instance you're talking about but to say it never happened with any player is wrong.
