Nah, too many cases of innocent people in prison

Then folk say “yeah but it’d have to 100% with absolutely no doubt “

But isn’t that always the case?

No, not really.

I think the burden of proof to find someone guilty of an offence in the UK is beyond reasonable doubt.

I suppose if the proof is scientific such as DNA evidence then the proof is maybe not ‘beyond reasonable doubt’ but becomes 100% conclusive?

The more people you execute, the closer you get to killing an innocent person until eventually, it happens. Because obviously it would, unless somebody is suggesting that there is zero chance that this could occur, which is a ridiculous suggestion. So, you have to be willing to say that X number of innocent people dying is worth it to kill the other people who are 'deserving' of death. And if somebody suggested that, I would put forward that they are a buffoon and thank goodness they are not involved in policy making.

My post was in response to S&D suggesting that the legal system operates on conviction upon 100% certainly when it’s actually proving beyond reasonable doubt. A big difference.

Not for me, there is always the issue of what if we are wrong... but also because it just gives rise to appeal and next appeal, what is the average length of time on death row? Plus, the idea its a deterrent is not correct - once you have killed and know you will be killed, well just keep killing... Also, the idea is they are punished, and its too quick for me. A lifetime to suffer for their actions sounds fine to me.....

If it was my kid, or grandkid, I wouldnt want revenge. Two wrongs never make a right, as my mother always said.
Stay Home. Stay Safe.
