Absolutely stunned with this news. Like others on here, a favourite player from my younger days, and seemed a genuinely likeable guy. Must have made lots of connections via Facebook, and I used to enjoy reading his posts. On Facebook, he wasn't my onfield image of him, a tough uncompromising defender, rather a very friendly guy without any aggression in the world. Made me want to play like him when I got the chance to play, as I was typically a defender when I was picked for Sunday League etc.
Feel so sorry for family and friends when hearing this news. Genuine gasp from me on reading it as I wasn't aware of any health issues.R.I.P. Tony.

Really sad news. He was so engaged with the the fans via social media, clearly his time here meant a lot to him. RIP Tony, you gave us some great memories. My favourite memory of him was having the odd pint with him down at the Acker in his playing days, always a good laugh and very sociable.
