And they are very much sitting up and taking notice of what Rowe has achieved.
I should have Steve Ogrizovic and David Reeves up next so if there is anything you would like to ask let me know.

Some funny stories about Arthur Cox who used to lead the goalkeeper training, pinging balls at him from 10 yards in the Saltergate centre circle and if he dropped one he had to run a lap of the pitch.
It's available on the YouTube page here. https://www.youtube....jC3TKRJSXnV-inQ
And it's also on all the usual podcast platforms (iTunes, Spotify etc)
I'm speaking to David Reeves on next Tuesday if anyone has any questions?

Ask him about what he did when he scored the first and I think only, golden goal scored at Saltergate 😁

Really enjoyed the chat with Oggy. He spoke really well about times at town (that are vivid in my memory as a kid) and his career generally.
Making his debut at town to receiving a European Cup Winners medal within a year is an amazing story.

It sure will, he's got a great sense of humour.
He went out for a while with my missus' 2nd cousin (Sarah)
I was subsequently warned not to talk about him at her wedding a few years later, so the chat was restricted to chatting to her Brother about Darren Brown who he went to school with in Rotherham.
He's another one you might wish to get on

I’ve got a great idea for a. Fundraiser!!
Charity White Collar Boxing Night
“The battle of the chinless liars”
Darren Br*wn v Ashley Cars*n
I reckon it would sell out the Ground - all proceeds to the Club

Two blokes rooted to their corner all night wouldn't be that entertaining.
A story I was told at the wedding was that Brown was expelled from school for bringing in and firing off an air pistol/rifle

The Oggy one certainly was.
I think I was probably the first Town fan to ever see him play. along with his brother and Phil Walker. They lived on Unwin Road in Sutton in Ashfield where I worked at the time. My office overlooked the Pretty Polly football and sports ground on which Mansfield trained - it was a grandstand view really. The ground was surrounded by a high stone wall and locked gates but these three lads were always climbing over the wall to play football and often came through our works gate to get over the wall. . I didn't know who they were or their names but you couldn't fail to notice this very tall youth and then eventually be amazed to see him in goal for us. .

Thank you so much for doing these. Just finished the Dwayne Mattis one and thoroughly enjoyed it - what a lovely bloke. The best parts, for me, are the insights into the dressing room under the different managers. I am also spending lots of time googling the careers of players and managers I've long since forgotten as and when they come up during the interviews.
I'd be interested to know where Reevesy ranks that goal he scored against us (for Carlisle) in the last week of the 1994-95 season. Absolute screamer - he can't have scored too many better, and it nearly cost us, but in the end set up the 5-2 against The Stags!

Ernie for me is the ultimate spirited legend. I appreciate that Ernie isn’t unfortunately in any condition to conduct such an interview - but maybe you could speak with people like Phil, Pete, Stu and maybe between you put together a “collage” of previuinterviews that might then cover Ernie a career at town and express his and our love for the club, his and our relations as fan and player for one of these?
I appreciator wouldn’t be easy, but it might be fitting for the great man before he leaves us.

I've been thinking about an Ernie special. I've got something planned for later in the month that will touch on his career but would like to do a special with memories from ex players and supporters. If anyone has good memories and is interested in sharing them on a zoom call let me know. I was watching his interviews with Phil Tooley on YouTube the other day and they are excellent.

You need to see the Saltergate End of an Era video, it's built around discussions with Ernie conducted by Phil Tooley, although sadly the early signs of his condition are there, some decent memories are shared.
I think because it was shown last year on the 10th anniversary of the last game it may still be found on the clubs You Tube channel.
Edit : Just noticed LOTS reference to what appears to be the same video.

Episode 5 is out now with Tom Curtis.
Really interesting to talk about his career in coaching now (working with the England under 15s and under 17s and doing some scouting for Southgate).
And also how Mark Williams spent the FA Cup semi final determined to kick the ball out of Old Trafford.
Also covered penalty taking, mixing uni with playing week in week out and the Battle of Saltergate.
