Matchday Tickets Buying on the day

However, as part of the ongoing FA enquiries and in light of the recent Banning Orders issued by the club, the following changes will be implemented with immediate effect:
•Match tickets must now be recorded against your Customer Record on our ticketing system.
•You may be asked to provide proof of ID, including age. Please bring this ID with you.
•Online tickets will now be available up until two hours before kick-off for collection and up until one hour before kick-off with the 'Print at Home’ facility.
•Ticket office windows will close 15 minutes before kick-off.
•There will be ticket checks at turnstiles on matchdays.
Unfortunately, as this will increase the time it takes to purchase a ticket on matchdays, it is suggested that all supporters buy their tickets early, as kick-off times will not be delayed.
This appears to mean that if you want to buy a ticket at the ground after 2.45pm you will be turned away , is this sensible ?

Lesley has said on Facebook that there will be 1 window open until kickoff. Personally I feel that everyone needing ID to buy a ticket is major overkill. Having people's names wouldn't have helped prevent the pitch invasions, nor would it have made it easier to identify anyone as they weren't in their seats!!!

Firstly spot checks on IDs is only for people buying concession categories.
The idea is not to penalise or deter anyone but our current process is not fit for purpose. Right up until KO there will be a terminal open to take sales for anyone wishing to make a late decision. Anyone queuing regardless of the time will be served.
We have also extended the time on our website by an extra 2/3 hours for people buying tickets. Over the last month we had already been speaking with a number of clubs about their process to try and increase online traffic and to make sure our audit trail is as robust as it can be.
Currently anyone buying after 1pm are not providing details, in the event of an emergency either medical or otherwise we have no way of tracing who that person is. This is something we’ve been wanting to do for a while.
I don’t want to present any hurdles for any of our fans but what we are implementing is pretty standard across the clubs with digital turnstiles. Any questions drop me a message 😊

Lesley nobody doubts your love and commitment to town. You have decided to throw your lot in with Allen Carson Warner and Croot with no recognition of what’s happened the last 4 years. Warner is embarrassed croot says nothing. What is going to change while Allen blames everyone apart from him and Carson. Oh and Turner?

Not sure what you mean by throw my lot it in, but for clarity there are 237 employees at the club, all of which can encompass my role and it is beyond just the top table.
On Monday at the AGM I made my position clear. I am deeply embarrassed as a fan about what we’ve endured over the last 4 years. No one is expecting anyone to forgot or forget. Whilst I might not change the world there is large parts of the business that can be influenced and changed for the better.
I am just rolling my sleeves up and giving it my best shot.

I welcome the clarification, but three of these seem to be at odds with what was put in the official club statement. The first states that the ticket office windows will close fifteen minutes before the kick-off. the second informs supporters that they "may be asked to provide proof of ID, including age," which, to me, suggests that ID is not exclusively for that purpose. Everyone is explicitly asked to "bring this ID with you." Furthermore, the recording of purchases against customer records is not presented as a precautionary measure for emergencies, but "As part of the ongoing FA enquiries and in light of the recent Banning Orders issued by the club."
Would it be worth getting the official statement changed to reflect the clarifications you have taken the trouble to present above?

Thanks for the response Lesley. When i said throw your lot in should have said orepared to work with those who have sanctioned dodgy raflles dodgy development schools and next time you see Ashley ask him how many FA charges have been brought against the club found to be true and fined. Some fans go on the pitch to peacefully protest against those running the club they have their faces plastered over local media and made to look like criminals. Then the club feed them to the lions to avoid a points deduction. A points deduction perhaps those running the club deserve. As I said to Warner at the solihull game you should be ashamed of yourself. You applied for the directorship good luck

Why does the club need to trace ‘who that person is’?

Not sure the official statement needs amending, appreciate its word sensitive but we was hoping that some would be common sense. We want to guide the fans to arriving earlier to help with the process but if we have people in a queue at 2:45pm we aren’t going to shut the windows and turn them away. We have put a time cut off in there but like everything it’s subject to the situation.
The ID wording is standard for any concert / sporting event. It doesn’t mean every single person needs ID every week but if you are buying a ticket that is age or status driven then be prepared for random checks. To be fair 85% of our fan base already bring this with them and offer it upfront without asking.
The recording of purchases is a consequence of all the events. Through the FA investigation we have some identified some gaps in the process when meeting with the safety advisory group around emergencies and pitch encroachments. It is not exclusive to emergencies but just something that we have considered whilst reviewing the whole process. Some of these changes were already coming, some have been expedited.

I think it’s maybe more than tracing a person but more tracing a purchase.
A match gets abandoned
Someone loses a ticket
Someone wants a refund
A person takes ill at the game
An away game gets called off and we’ve sold the ticket
By using walk up mode and taking no details it’s leaves us struggling to trace the point of sale. Ask anyone that forgets to bring a match ticket what it’s like finding the transaction when they aren’t on the system.

It doesn’t affect me but forgive me for detecting ulterior motives.

Some might argue we should be putting as few a hurdles a possible in place to those wanting attend games.

Sorry Lesley but Mr Looker is 100% correct with regards to the statement issued. It's very clear why these changes are taking place.
