I understand people will not want to go after last nights performance, but without the fans im sure the players will just give up anyway!
Ye it can be a waste of money for people who pay and stand for 90 and see a shockin performance but isn't that what football is about, supportin your team?..even if they are shockin?

Every home game I've missed this season we've won; so I'm guessing I'm a bad omen!

Then you really must stay away at the weekend - it's our only hope....

Actually my dad is the proverbial part time supporter. Picks and chooses his games, preferring night matches so he can have Saturdays with his family, unless of course my mum is driving him mad in which case he'll be at the game. Rarely goes to away games.
It cost my Dad 25 - 30 quid last night to see the match if you include travel, parking, program, Bovril etc etc. Now I know he's a bit senile but he's not daft. What when he has other commitments could possibly make him think that spending all that money again would be a good idea?

No offence taken or anything like that, wasnt being defensive just using my dad as an example of what goes through the minds of people could be called less than hardcore supporters.
The hardcore are the fools that will turn up anyway, its people like my dad who can make the difference but arent dedicated enough to sit through any old crap. To me this is who the club are losing sight of by being silent. I shudder to think what the crowd could be on Saturday.

There was a survey taken for the premiership the other day and the average age of the attendees at football matches is 43 and under 20's is less than 10%

It takes my Dad 1 1/2+ Hours to get to town games, so it just shows how fickle supporters who live 5 mins away are, cant even be bothered to support there team! Id still go if we went down!

I dont think age is a factor with my dad just that he is very much a part time supporter. One of the important things a club can do is turn these fans into hardcore or season ticket holders but imho the clubs tactics to this end have been poor. What happened to the guys who were marketing experts that joined the board?
