According to a couple of papers I have read on the integrity of football, gambling is right up there with money laundering as being one of the biggest threats to the game.

I hope the £20 deposit in the betting account wasn't from a CFC-issued Credit Card again?!
Are you suggesting this type of thing has happened before?

How serious are the FA likely to take this?

Nice easy target for them to make an example of?

Only if you believe the rumours, of course.
Edit: That rumour being that a then employee, deposited money in his personal betting account using a CFC CREDIT CARD and backed us to lose in the play off semi second leg at Preston. The FA found out and the club got a severe knuckle wrap, allegedley.
Other rumours of other ex-employees making 4 figure sums on previous managerial appointment are purely hear-say.

And, that fat dude up front was being bullied by the fans; I paid top wedge for him. And that Angel fella..who spent his entire contract on the treatment table/golf course/in the boozer; lovely lad.

What a good and interesting find!
It seems the directors actually tried very hard to satisfy DA, and that it was he who ‘ran away’ and not the directors as he claims. Basically, almost the opposite of what DA claims.

rumoured to be less 20% wasn't it and if they didn't agree they were threatened with Admin
IIRC 60's 70's Spireite asked the Chairman at the AGM to clarify their exit deals and gave him the opportunity to quash the above rumour, but he point blank refused.

If true, this is absolutely insane.

More lies to compound the lies from them.
That is why I refuse to give them a penny, among other issues that have been stacking up.
I will not endorse this regime

This is the thing, mate; they just can't stop lying. They continually contradict themselves.
Allen's behaviour has been contemptible; yet, some folk are still falling for his bullshít rhetoric. It truly staggers me.

Thanks for the timely reminder, 'IDLM'.
And 'Wrong Kit's' account does match the version emanating from the Boardroom at the time. Infact it's my understanding the ex directors were faced with the choice of CFC going into administration or quitting whilst writing off 20% of their debentures' worth. So 'running away'? Pah.
Allen's smears are as cowardly as they're dishonest in my eyes, too. Because if it's true the former stalwarts signed non-disclosure agreements he knows they can't respond to his sneers. Not for the first time Sheff Road would appear a moral free zone.
Y'know, the whole sickening scenario at Town reminds of an episode in a pub when I was a young man. I was with a group of mates but, as we'd only just left school and were struggling to find work in Thatcher's Britain, had to watch what we were spending. On the other hand one big and brash bloke was chucking cash around like confetti, making a huge song and dance about buying drinks for everyone in return for nothing but their thanks. But then he suddenly turned ugly, approaching our group insisting it was our turn to buy a round in the full knowledge we couldn't really afford it. Before launching into an obnoxious tirade about 'boys shouldn't try to be men if they've nowt in their pockets' when we admitted as much.
I'm sure everyone can grasp my point.
