A defence that is leaking goals left, right and center.
Goals are drying up.
A team that is beginning to go into free fall.
Now before I get accused of all sorts of bunkum. I personally believe in Paul Cook but facts are facts. Looking at this situation factually it's starting to look bad for him.
Yes. It would be very harsh on him if Misters Allen & Turner sacked him. But we are living in a world where harsh decisions are made, we are used to them now (look at manager merrigoround thread). Would they make the mistake of not acting this time if (and it's a big IF) we get drawn into a relegation dogfight? Like I say I believe in Paul Cook and I hope beyond all hope that he can sort this out quickly.

I think this has affected morale & the express train of momentum we had, where teams were ###### scared of our attacking threat...has completely gone!
Look at the teams that we had on the back foot with our attacking purpose! Sheffield United, MK Dons, Bristol City, Scunthorpe, Rochdale, Port Vale....

And Swindon for the first quarter of the game. Some of our approach play was sublime, fast and incisive but the final ball? Aaaargghh

It's not DA's department though surely. It's not like he's not investing, was it half a million he had to stick in recently. We aren't really in the position to be taking more off him. It's gonna be down to Cook to shift the resources around at his disposal, possibly we'll have to sell someone off and reinvest in areas that require more urgent attention. Unless some bigger clubs are feeling generous and want to give us good loanees and pay their wages.

If any and I mean any player commands a fee then it needs to be taken and the money invested were possible. because if the budget is spent which is well publisised that it is. Then this lot are only going in one direction

The problem is that the above statement in bold is actually true.
Lets not forget Paul Cook came to the club and said that "any player playing well will keep their shirt." He wanted to instil that in the squad. Trouble is he hasn't lived by it - never! Not just this season but last season as well.
For me, the most balanced side we put out was the one that took apart sheff urinals. I don't think Cook has kept the same side since. He certainly didn't start with that same 11 at Bristol; and the side changed again for Oldham and then Colchester and then Walsall.
In five games we have gone from a side that was at least playing some beautiful football that had everyone wanting more - and actually seemed to have everyone caring less and less about the result - they were just so pleased to be entertained; to a side that leaks goals and doesn't even play particulalrly well.
A few weeks ago there were threads about how much Morsey and Doyle must be worth and how we would be lucky to keep hold of them, but on current team performances they won't be going anywhere.
I'm a big believer in the addage - if it aint broke, don't fix it - this has never been so true as it is now with CFC

The Supply to him.
How many times was the ball just hoofed up to him and he had nobody to head it on to and was left to feed off seconds.
How many times did someone either shoot or head it at goal last night instead of pulling it back or squaring it to him.
How much running did he do chasing down the keeper and full backs from goal kicks. Excellent tactics that stretched the midfield and allowed them to play through the space.

Clucas, Margreitter, Johnson, Gobern have all arrived in some capacity since and may well have taken some up. Don't forget we only get something like 40% from a transfer as the rest goes on debt so that's only 240,000 give or take to work with if that's true and Clucas required a transfer fee and wages.
Plus Hull got a healthy chunk from a sell on clause.

Totally agree with this - He can stab a ball in the net from within 10 yards or score a penalty - but does nothing else.
I also understand if he does this 25 times a season, he has done his job.
But.........
Doesn't make his own goals by beating a man, doesn't have a trick, doesn't create for anybody else.
I also understand that its a difficult role upfront on his own but like Blue95 says something is missing.
He won't go for big money because of this.
