Players For Next Season

Of the players I’ve seen this Season Conn Clarke at Altrincham ought to be on our list of potential acquisitions plus at least one forward and one centre half.
Not sure Quigley is really good enough going forward so that means two forwards hopefully and one with a bit of pace.
Just looking generally at the age of the squad we need to get a couple of younger players in hence why Conn Clarke would fit the bill.
Looks like we are going to have plenty of time to consider next Season and start planning early for a Div 2 challenge!
Exciting times.

As much as I’d like to see him sign, he will end up at a League 1 club. Hopefully it’s not them thanks to their annual “implosion”

What about Dieseruvwe our ex now at Hartlepool scored 20 so far in a struggling team.
Young fast strong but very raw , could be a good squad player.

I see the consensus is coming arond to my way of thinking that Quigs isn't good enopugh. He had a brief purple patch as he did last season, but won't be anywhere neaar consistently good enough for league football. We definitely need one and probably two strikers.

Doesn't matter what anybody on here thinks. He's signed a new contract so he ain't going anywhere.

Obviously none of our armchair managers are looking at the OOC thread as I believe most of this squad are with us at least for next season, unless I have missed something.

I thought that Jacobs was 3 years like the other league veterans, but I don't know where I got that from aside from the idea of player who could be in league 1 coming here for a single year rather than for longer-term security seems weird.
Banks is a funny one. I would have thought that he was in Cook's plans but maybe not, or maybe we're not offering him the length of contract that he's looking for.

The clear area for me is CB. I think we certainly need at least one who's better than any of the options we have (ie Grimes + someone better as a pairing)...but being brutal about it I think we ideally need both CB positions to be upgraded.

Current senior squad of 23 players With 8 (possibly 9) current vacancies to bring that back up to a squad of 23 next season.
So there is plenty to doscuss.

Liam Cooper will no doubt be available. Still only 32.

He also brought in 3 young’uns, Berry, Hobson & Curtis. Only Berry has made a contribution but Hobson wasn’t given a 2 year contract for nothing.
His 2 young loan players, Tyrer & Freckleton, have also done well for us.
Maybe, Cook is lining up 3 more surprises to add to the quality we already have, a few players under the age of 21, plus making good use of the loan market as we will be a more attractive destination for players when we are back in the EFL.
On top of that, I don’t think his retained list has been completed yet. I believe we are limited to a squad of 22 outfield players plus as many goalkeepers and players under the age of 21 as we want. The budget needs to be handled carefully and, no doubt, there will be a limit on the size of any transfer fee we might pay. That said, from the NL, there are only 2 players I can think of that could be of interest if we can afford them - Conn-Clarke & Nevett.
The beauty is that the management will have plenty of time to plan for next season and so will be fully prepared with their shopping list.

I’d be surprised, when he was here, he spoke poorly of his exit from Hull, he was and remains very bitter. I recall shortly after signing for us, he said he was hoping we would draw Hull in one of the Cups so we could get one over them. Even recently he has spoke of how he especially likes to beat Hull.
