Some pretty stupid comments about us on their forum. Deliberately miss spelling / mispronouncing Chesterfield, one calling us Chesterfield United, etc. Another who thinks we are part time, don’t know whether he’s being serious. Also because we are ‘non league’ must be poor. Presumably they haven’t looked at our league table. Hopefully they will be in for a shock.
The ironic thing is although there may be three divisions between us at present we have played them many times within living memory at the same level so they ought to know better
The Chelsea fan who I think was based in Africa thought our players were part time and were taxi drivers and window cleaners. That was perhaps understandable and he did apologise when he was put right. But there is no such excuse for these Watford fans. Hope we stick it up them.

Agreed. Does anyone really care what they say or whether it’s a bit offensive. They probably view this game in a similar light to the way we viewed Southport at home in the trophy. We might not like it, but we are at present a national league side. I hope to god we go up this year and never grace this level ever again, but I’m not that surprised Watford fans view us as Non League fodder coming for our big day out.

I tried to join to put them right, but as a test question you have to name their player of the year from about five years ago. Presumably this information can be found if you’re that desperate to join but I’m not.

That maybe a deliberate act; back in the 70's when we played Watford, our programme, on the front cover, called them Watford Town!
