So tonight immediately after leaving the stadium I was nearly hit by a car, he had deliberately started driving past a steward who was trying to stop him, do we have to wait for someone to get injured before these drivers start to take instructions seriously? Surely stewards should report any driver trying to disobey the rules and these drivers should be banned from using the car park

Agree but dont understand why anybody would want to park there. There's so much street parking available.

I was on the understanding that they had to wait a period of time before driving out because of the crowds in tbe car park.
Pretty simple rules to follow and it's a health and safety issue.
As we were leaving, some utter melon was sat in their car trying to drive through the crowd at the back of the Kop.
What they didn't see was the row of traffic cones across the route blocking the way out as, obviously, there was 1000's of people exiting.
I'd be contacting the club regarding the breach of the carparking rules and as a matter of health and safety

If you can’t wait don’t park there. There are some every game who try to move and get to the front of the queue. They need their pass removing.

If people can't wait for the crowd to thin out, then they need to be reported, either to the club or the police. Someone will get hurt if it's allowed to carry on unabated.

We have 2 disabled fans with us who struggle to walk, we always wait for the crowds to clear the car park, it usually takes about 15mins.

Problem is people will still move to get to the front of the queue by the barrier. Folk just need to stop where they are.

If I was there and he pulled that stunt, he'd probably find a dent in a panel.

The problem is the lack of Stewards compared to the number of numpties. Parking there.

I had a similar incident in the early years at this ground.
Reported the reg no and Chris Turner phoned me to say the driver had been warned-one more incident and his pass would be revoked.
I am sure the current regime will be equally receptive if provided with the relevant information.

Email any car regs to [email protected] and they'll be passed on, hopefully for action to be taken

Yes what an idiot. If anyone has his reg please let me know and will happily lodge a complaint. Was buoyed by euphoria tbh or I would have taken his reg.

We park at the rear of the North stand and wait until it's clear. Noticed recently that the stewards no longer stretch out and stop cars from moving whilst there is heavy pedestrian movement. The stewards at the exit do a decent job. What they need to do is have a Road Closure sign on the main entrance (white on red) and white on blue Left Turn Only for cars exit from South at bottom of exit. The same for cars from North but saying Right Turn Only, so that the
2 lanes are made One Way only onto Sheffield Road. White on Red Keep junction clear signs in either direction would also ease exiting onto the main road. If I was still working for DCCI would switch off the t/lights on Ernie Moss Way and make it One Way with no entry from this road onto the main road for 30mins after the game. We used this system when we had the big pop concerts.

Was the most idiotic thing I’ve seen at the car park. Lots of fans walking (admittedly some deliberately in front of the car to slow it down) and the car kept coming. Stupid.

Did anyone get the reg?
