So heres the thing. The South Stand is showing as "Sold Out" for new years day and you are unable to purchase on line tickets. But I can guarantee there will be lots of empty seats. At the recent Aldershot game there were 3 empty seats next to me and also lots of other areas in the South Stand with empty seats. So friends bought tickets for the North Stand when we could have quite easily sat together in the South. Question is ..... Is there a resolution to this .....? I know its a tricky problem, has anyone got any constructive ideas that we could mention at the next fans forum.

Presumably majority are season tickets but people can’t go, would need an option to resell those in some way.

I have a season ticket with a mate and his two kids in the west stand family bit which is often full these days but none of us can make New Year’s Day. We’ve offered them to some of the folk we sit near so they hopefully get used but half a chance they’ll be empty if not.

all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Anyone know how close to match day do they usually release upper W7 tickets?

I need to buy 7 seats together so it’s either front rows, North stand or wait for W7 to be released.

There are 2 sides to this. There are obviously limitations in the IT ticketing system itself, and then there is the policy that CFC adopt to releasing sections of stands. I know we are a way off sell outs every game (but not a million miles off), so it’s time for the powers that be, to take a look at the IT system and their policy. I know the premiershi* teams and some championship have a system whereby season ticket holders who can’t attend can ‘sell’ their tickets back into a ‘pot’ for walk ups etc. I really don’t get why we retain certain sections until the last minute, this restricts peoples choice of where to sit and may even result in people saying sod it, I’ll make alternative plans because there are no decent seats left. If there are good reasons for not releasing seats, then JUST COME OUT AND CHUFFIN’ EXPLAIN IT! If it’s lack of stewards or first aiders, then fine, at least we’ll know. The clubs IT systems have come in for criticism over the years, not sure if we are still lumbered with Carson’s contract or not, but from experience, I know it’s not difficult to tweak these things. There should be a parallel system to test improvements out on.
The aim must be to get as many home fans in as possible, don’t put obstacles in the way.

Have to totally agree with the above.
Can I also add why not post out tickets - if first class mail is not reliable then use a special delivery service - I am sure the exiles that would benefit would gladly pay the extra charge.

It's a case of the IT system more important than the process.
My gripe is not selling front seats in the kop. They did sell them for some matches but not for most of them. In fact the whole thing looks a bit 'jobs worth' where the displays of seats sold do not match the actual days arrangements.
The kop is sold out one minute then another 70 or eighty seats appear for sale the day before the game. This can't be to do with stewarding. I think this is an unnecessary 'solution' to a problem that doesn't exist.

Nice to know the club read the forum and perhaps take note….2 rows in the kop, and the rest of W7 now opened up earlier than usual.

This happens every game and no idea why, but it’s open now as per usual

Also no reason why can’t open up the rest of E3 for some better seats with their being such a pitiful away following. E2 as segregation for the 50 odd away fans is more than enough

I don’t expect anyone misses anything about Saltergate but I certainly miss the ability to decide if you want to go anytime up to kick off and walk up and simply go in without all this palaver.

You can still do this really, just will cost you £2 extra to get a ticket on the day. Up until 2pm you can still order online whilst walking to the ground and walk straight in. It’s not that difficult really. My only gripe is the charges for printing tickets off
