Exactly my thought too. If you freeze the film just as the cross comes in, you can see that every one of our defenders have been drawn to the left ball watching. Not one defender even looked to their right, and the Dorking player had time to have a cup of tea and a sandwich before tapping the ball in. I’m a big admirer of PC, but he has to take responsibility for his defenders being so appallingly slack. I ran primary school football teams for nearly 40 years` and I’m sure I never saw 10/11 yr olds defend so atrociously. I can only think our management team totally underestimated Dorking, and assumed they’d just sit back and defend. Well they actually played on the front foot, and played some good attacking football; I think they only fell short because they tired badly in the final 20 minutes or so, which was only to be expected as they are not all full-time players. Cooke should breathe a big sigh of relief, and sort his defenders out, because they looked as if they’d never met each other before. I’d feel much more confident if King and Maguire were brought back in, unless he can drum a bit of positional sense into his back four. Another thing that stood out for me was the way Dobra disappeared in the second half, though I do wonder if the management team at half time instructed him to stay up in the opposition half, because he came back and gave the ball away leading up to their first goal. I really hope that experience has shocked us out of any complacency arising from our ‘favourites’ tag.

Sheckleford terrible. Really really bad.
I don’t recall any time in the match when he gave away the ball - his distribution was pretty good. Positionally you can criticize all the back four for the goals. When was the last time J K had a good defensive game and never gave away tha ball ? What has he contributed over half a season ? Mandy showed yesterday how to put a ball in the box and even how to score from a dead ball. Sorry but it’s a no brainer at RB for now even though the rose-tinted glass wearers are always on King

When folk are crying out for King to come back in to address defensive frailties you know you’ve got a problem.

How many times last season did we concede three goals when he was playing?
I dunno youth but when we did concede he was generally involved. I like the lad but a defender he is not.

Didn't appreciate his good Quigley's header was at the time. Excellent stuff, chuffed for him.
It was a wonderful finish.
His height actually made it more difficult.
He’s basically buried a more difficult effort than the ones he usually misses.
He’s a nice bloke as well, would have done his confidence the world of good.
I’m predicting a double figure return by the end of the season, he’ll come good he will.

He couldn’t tackle a fish supper. No idea how to defend. Stands square on to opponents running at him. Never shows a player either the outside or inside. Gets done in behind on the diagonal ball.
Going forward a different story . Well it was the first half of last season . Since then not so much.
