Why not hire a car or use coaching network

I've got a got thanks - a very big one - and coaches don't go there apparently - it's the principle I'm talking about - a blisteringly ridiculous amount of money to be cramped up. Ever thought of trying to be environmentally friendly without spending a shedload on an electric car? Hitchhike maybe?

Assuming you’re travelling from Chesterfield? If so you can get the first train - 10:09 from Chesterfield to Bristol (arrives 12:37) on an off peak return for £235 for you both (117.40 each).
Last time i checked, cross country was privately owned

Can i ask the last time you were on public transport? You do realise they have individual seats and some tables rather than wooden benches, more room than you’ll have in your really big car, and you’ll be able to walk up and down the train, which you cant do in your really big car

It'll be a bit of a challenge to get from the station to Bear Pit island and then negotiate the Cheltenham Rd. (2 mile plus of standing traffic) in 20 minutes

the pricing structure is a shambles & the travelling conditions are a disgrace.

That’s not the experience I have of using public transport in this country and I travel on trains every week. They’re a disgrace - pricing, quality of service, reliance of service etc etc

Separate argument. Btw last time? This morning mate - overcrowded with a lot of people putting their luggage on seats. Public transport in this country is third world standard mate - use it a lot. Trains which used to have 4 coaches now have two - those which had 9 coaches to London now have 7 or 5 etc... Ludicrously out of kilter with 'public service' and aimed at profit for rolling stock companies. I doubt Starmer will improve things any more than that meretricious little dribbler from Uxbridge. promised ith GB Railway who resigned from Parliament a few months ago

A very sedate stroll from Bear Pit up the Cheltenham Rd., calling in numerous refreshment houses was a pleasing route too the Memorial Ground. But I won't be there as I'll be watching it rain as its the last Saturday of the cricket season (for some).
